The most obvious slight of hand here is the suggestion that employer contributions shouldn’t count as part of what employees paid in. That is part of their compensation and shouldn’t be ignored when suggesting that younger generations are paying for baby boomer’s social security.

To me this reads like someone is trying to poison younger people against social security so they won’t complain when it is taken away.

I’d argue that this highly depends on what state you live in. Idaho is one of the most backward, conservative, intolerant states in the country.

The Japanese part of this is evidenced by the fact that some traffic lights are blue rather than green. As far as I know, they are standardizing everything to green now to avoid any confusion, but some older lights are still blue because the words were the same for blue and green.

I have been on the internet since 1993 and have always been disappointed that a subscription/donation model didn’t beat out an ad-driven model. I wonder if this is going to push us towards a subscription/donation model as things move behind paywalls tplo protect against bots.

I agree that this is ridiculous and hope the guy wins a hefy lawsuit over this. That said, you can’t seriously tell me that other parts of the world don’t also have corrupt, power hungry people who make it to local office here and there who do asinine stuff like this, can you?
