mate that’s not so much a “truck doesn’t stop for children in crosswalk” as it is a “driver completely blows a red light and runs into children in crosswalk on their crossing signal”
just a little bit understated

you can get top loaders with no central agitator
always the victim, these delivery drivers…
agreed, but when the bar is set by vehicle UIs, that sort of becomes the reference point rather than what is logical

I love my small steel trailer. it’s light enough that I can move it by hand, so I don’t need to mess around with trying to back up my long wagon with a short trailer behind me into my driveway or into awkward spaces. just unhitch and push it where I need it to go. super easy to park next to my driveway as well, without needing to drive on my lawn. I think it’s actually easier to hook up my trailer than it is to put my bike rack on the hitch lol, because I have my bike rack hanging awkwardly at the back of the garage in a tough to reach spot
although to be honest I do wish it were aluminum so I didn’t have to worry about rust

okay, so you can put your device into driving mode
seems like a non-issue

my third gen Outback isn’t worth anything, so it’s becoming my truck
can haul 8ft lengths of material inside the vehicle
can haul 16ft lengths of material with only 5ft of stick out
can tow a utility trailer
has ground clearance and AWD for rough terrain
only drawback is it’s got a low ceiling, affecting cargo height. but that’s also an inherent feature of a wagon, and why I don’t like newer Outbacks that aren’t wagons
I’ve looked at small trucks like an old Ford/Mazda Ranger in the past, but it doesn’t make sense for me - I’d rather have the rear seats for the dogs and enclosed space connected to the cabin than a bed topper

yeah but I’d rather China spy on me than an actively hostile nation that’s a greater threat to me
either way, not buying a car like that

lacks physical controls
blinding LED headlights
spyware
yeah, that’s totally what we’re looking for

you’re starting too far down the line
most vehicles nowadays are gimmicks
the real question is why can’t we get a simple economical vehicle and not unrepairable subcription-based spyware on wheels with dangerous features, regardless of engine type
T9 texting with one hand without looking at the phone is less dangerous than using a modern vehicle’s touchscreen climate controls
fight me
I don’t get your point about it being fake. Why would a 10key phone preclude texting while driving?
using abbreviations in comments is fine, it’s just like any other shortened term
the censoring in the post is dumb, though

I’ve done this with a lot of tools
hex keys, scissors, utility knives, and screwdrivers can be found on every level of my house and in the garage, as well as in dedicated tool sets (i.e. bicycle toolbox)
no more “oh I need to go get this tool to fix this one minor thing. that’s annoying me every time I use it”, it’s at most ten steps away and I can do it now

the windows retracting to open the doors is pretty standard on cars nowadays
still stupid, though. my '08 just pushes the window up against the weather seal and it still works perfectly fine

on your billing plan, maybe

is this an american thing?
the path to get to “shopping preferences” is different for me than the article says, and then it just has three sections with no contents. clothing & shoes, interests, pets — none have any info in them
yes, but I wasn’t using it at the time. I was gaming at my Ikea kitchen table desk, with my standup work desk right next to me
this is extra funny because as anyone who’s been to fandom without an ad blocker knows, the site is 80% aids
