I love The Bear, but it always felt like it was meant to be a short series to me. Like I wanted to see everything wrap up nice and tidy in two seasons. Good as the show is, I just can’t imagine sticking around for multiple seasons more.
Maybe I’ll be wrong, but I predict seeing people lose steam on this show quick at this point
There’s still one more story to tell: getting a star for the place and what it means. After that the show can end.
I don’t know - it seems like there could still be a lot of character development. Carmine has a lot of development to do before I would consider him healthy. I just hope they do better than they did with Richie. His transformation seemed like a miracle change.
Sydney and Carmine still have a lot of possible growth and conflict in their relationship. I’m very curious how that develops.
My main issue is that they seem to solve problems too easily.
Although the episodes with Richie in the second season are some of my favorites among the one where the kitchen finally starts to work and Sydney together with Richie are leading the way.
Yeah, Richie’s character is great, I just felt like they skipped over a lot of development after ep 8. Syd and Richie becoming a great team would also be a great story element.
I kind of feel the character is the kitchen and mostly the actors there are stand-ins to demonstrate the pressures of the kitchen environment. Just my 2c, but as mentioned maybe one more season to see the bear off.
Haven’t seen the show yet but I got the same feeling while watching both Atlanta and Breeders (both of which happened to be FX shows) and they ended up lasting for 4 seasons.
