This isn’t as good as it sounds. Not walking around is still unhealthy. Road debris is still unhealthy. The fact that tires decompose into micro particles that are toxic is now a bigger issue than tailpipe emissions.

The real fix is more public transport and a large rail network.

Unfortunately it won’t be enough… Real fix may be a massive reorganization of society to be slower, 15 min cities, greener cities, no cars inside, only rail/boat to move cargo and limit trucks traffic, massive work from home… maybe.
