Notorious Lemmy outlaw. Privacy is the right to move through the world without asking permission from a system that thinks watching you is the same as protecting you. Trolls, you may copy me, but you’ll never be me! You’re not going to get rid of me! hahahahahahaha

  • What’s even stranger to me is that so many people still think I’m a troll, even though most of what I’ve said isn’t even controversial in our modern times. A lot of the hostility for me goes back to the 2024 presidential election, when I openly supported voting third party. No one would even blink an eye about someone saying that stuff now.

Looking back, my comments were pretty tame compared with a lot of what people say now. But some people still treat my support for a third party as proof that I supported Trump, which was never my position. At this point, I mostly find it funny.

Two years ago they tried to bully me off of Lemmy. But I’m still here. lol

  • I read his little -open source runs on good faith- essay. I find it pretty ironic when he says “A healthy project allows someone to occasionally be wrong, awkward, inexperienced, tired or ill without immediately turning that event into a judgement about their character. When someone makes a decision and other people jump to conclusions about transphobia, ableism, etc then it becomes a determinant of someone’s moral value. And that’s toxic.”

Pretty hypocritical, considering he banned me almost as soon as I joined piefed back in the early days. It wasn’t based on anything I said or posted. It was based on what other people who disliked me claimed about me.

I’d love for him to point to any quote or post of mine on any instance that was actually ban-worthy.

His PTB trip seems more obvious every day. Between OP’s ban and several others we’ve been seeing lately, I think we’re going to see more of the same hypocrisy.

  • For the most part, Lemmy does not like news that’s not political. IMHO if it shows up on the major news orgs, then it should definitely count as news. Funny how AP News can say something is “news,” but Lemmy won’t think it counts as news. lololol

But you have a great option: just start your own news community. Better yet, start an entertainment news community. Then post whatever the fuck you want.

You’ll get hated, and stalked, and accused of working for Russia and shit, but just ignore the haters. You may have to find a different instances or start your own, but do it! I think the more varied and weird shit on here the better.

And fuck the haters, entertainment news is news! Don’t let the bullies on Lemmy win. :)

  • Even the OP’s complaint of the post you were responding do was BS. He says never heard of those communities, but looks like he was downvoting a bunch of posts in those communities, which seems to part of his schtick. He wrote “subreddits” on purpose to get people riled up. The whole thing is BS from the beginning that you got pulled into.

Sure, it’s kinda dumb and goofy. But at least now you know it wasn’t serious, and your ban is only temp. When your ban is up in a couple of days, you can go and participate and even post your ban from there in there. Then you’ll get a bunch of “So sorry that happened to you” And “poop in jail” comments.

I personally think that Lemmy is too serious most of the time. Not that I’m a huge fan of that comm’s humor, but it can be fun to roll with it sometimes.

Unfortunately part of the joke is laughing at the newbies who go in there say something, then get banned. So whether you like the performance art or not, you’ve become a part of it! lol

  • You replied before I finished my edit (for clarity) of my previous response, so I’m copying it here:

I don’t support or subscribe to all of its positions. I agree with its views on workers’ rights, unions, and class issues, and I value their labor coverage. That does not mean I adopt the party’s positions on Israel, Palestine, or every political issue.

My own views should be judged by what I actually say, not assigned to me through association with one publication or news articles that I may post.

I do not identify as a Zionist. Agreement on SWP’s workers’ rights should not be treated as automatic agreement on unrelated foreign-policy issues. I try to stay out of foreign-policy debates. It doesn’t interest me that much. Please move on.

EDIT: But thanks for pointing out where some of the confusion may come from, so I’ve updated the sidebar of the community.
