Is this a dig or just a casual statement?

Seen the incident a few times, The refs 100 percent thought… I can’t and don’t want to attempt to keep up with play so he has blown the whistle. Simon Hooper just seems unfit as a referee, he struggles to keep up in games and it effects his decision making.

This ain’t a dig at all, he’s indirectly stating that he wants to say how shit the refs were but knows not to as the League will try fuck him over for criticising the refs

I think his reaction would have been very different if they had lost due a decision like that.

IMO I think this is a dig at the FA about what happened to Arteta for questioning a really terrible decision. He’s saying he feels the same way as Arteta, but knows he will get in trouble for saying the same kind of thing

He’s already done it by referencing him. A smarter way to criticize the ref and avoid FA charges. Message is subtle but yet it’s clear.

Everyone saying it isn’t a dig: unpopular opinion, I think it is.

It’s classic mind games. Trying to name drop Arteta like he was weak by whining, and also basically saying the decision was shit without saying it. Using Mikel to make his point while simultaneously trying to make Arteta seem weak.

    This man mind games
