I’m convinced everyone on this thread who has an opinion about the roster doesn’t have the capability to understand what it will take for this team to win a championship. Desmond Ridder is not the issue, the defense is not the issue and our offensive weapons are not the issue. The o line needs to improve for the run game to improve. The play calling needs to improve in order for our weapons to be utilized properly. Fix that we win our championship in less than 5 years.

Ridder is playing QB next year. Unfortunately it’s the best option if we continue to build these wins. He wants to be a leader and at this point he controls his own destiny.

I hate the Arthur Smith slander. Desmond can’t hit a deep ball for his life. This subreddit is brutally bashing our head coach when he’s handicapped by a terrible QB. There is only so much you can do when you have to rely on running the ball and short passes.

I genuinely think the majority of this sub doesn’t watch the game. They see a win and think “that makes the team good! They won!” with so little room for nuance and understanding of what’s going on during the game.

He may not be THE issue, but he is a major issue. If Smith and Font want to keep their jobs, they will have to address the position in some fashion.

He threw for 121 yards as the starting QB in an NFL game. That’s an “issue” 99.9% of the time (the 0.1% being when it’s snowing / raining and gusting too hard to do anything other than hand the ball off, which wasn’t the case today).

As long as his turnover worthy plays remain where they are league wide I’m going to remain skeptical of him staying the QB for years to come. And it’s going to to take more than one mediocre game to improve that.

I think we all can agree it’s a little easier to play quarterback when you are facing a team that has scored only 11 offensive touchdowns all season and is currently one of the worst offenses we’ve seen in a very long time. Artie dumbed the playbook WAAAAAAAAAY down today both because of weather and he knew he only needed to score around 14 to win. So let’s not start sucking each other off because the Falcons beat the Jets.
