I’m not trying to stop people from being happy, on the contrary, I’m trying to help them avoid disappointment by getting them to stop huffing hopium in industrial quantities. It’s not a “misunderstanding” when you’re laughing about what you think is going to happen and getting excited about your “vindication”. You’re not helping anyone here. You’re just trying to get them to join you in your cynicism.
