Although there were many people who wondered if the Ghostbusters franchise had missed its opportunity to see the original 1984 movie continue
ChatGPT hasn’t seen that one
Is anyone looking forward to this? I’m a fan of the first two movies, but I didn’t see Afterlife. Based on the trailer, it didn’t really seem like the magic of the originals was there. More like a Goonies or Super 8 type movie… kids going on an adventure. The girl who was the new Egon also gave me Muppet Babies vibes.
I am. Loved the first two. Afterlife was a fantastic circle back, loved how they honored Egon. I will absolutely watch this new one.
My expectations were really low going in but yeah, its a solid retread of the first movie. The ending had me tearing up a little.
Not excited about another sequel (or reboot or whatever) but honestly curious about it.
I’m so excited for another soulless nostalgia-bait cash grab piece of shit movie
wait a minute… is this still from the new movie WITH RICK MORANIS?
and he is mentioned no where in the article!!!
Pretty sure that’s a still from ghostbusters 2
What!!? I thought he retired from acting? I’ll see it just for him.
No one tell him
Tell me what? (her btw) Now I’m worried.
That Real Ghostbusters episode they included in the article was a nostalgia ride and a half.
Thanks, I hate it.
Who cares?
Oh shoosh you, go back to your StarWar and let people enjoy things.
I mean I was half trolling but also half asking a genuine question. Why do people care so much about Ghost Busters? It was a good movie with a decent sequel 40 years ago, but now we keep getting a mediocre new entry every few years because of Gen X nostalgia bait and a Hollywood that is afraid to take risks and has run out of ideas. The hype always seems so forced.
Why do people care so much about Ghost Busters?
Because some people do. That’s not me being dismissive or snarky, that’s the exact reason. Because some people do.
The hype always seems so forced.
Well, yeah. There’s a marketing campaign that production companies are pushing for to increase the ROI from greenlighting a film that can’t be too original or else its going to be too risky of an investment.
