A lot of these vehicles use batteries that were made in China, and these batteries will be affected by the tariffs. The increased prices for batteries will be passed on to the consumer. Tesla and Ford use these batteries. This is going to make American EVs even less competitive with the EVs from other countries in some important ways.

Exactly, the battery is one of the most expensive parts of an EV. So, this basically means domestic EV industry in US is going to wither.
