It was not racism, they displayed a banner stating that Kosovo is Serbia. Romania is one of the few countries that does not recognise Kosovo’s sovereignty.

You’re right, here is a video that shows exactly that (Romanian fans holding a Kosovo is Serbia banner).

      Few ???

As of 4 September 2020, 101 out of 193 (52.3%) United Nations member states recognize Kosovo. That is a lot of countries not recognizing it.

I suppose “Kosovo is Serbia” is easier to put on a banner than “Kosovo is a disputed territory in the Balkans claimed by Serbia that has only partial recognition globally for it’s independence”

      Note the bold word …

Kosovo Albanians belong to the ethnic Albanian sub-group of Ghegs,[10] who inhabit the north of Albania, north of the Shkumbin river, Kosovo, southern Serbia, and western parts of North Macedonia.

      Now what is racism?

prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

Explain to me, how this isn’t racism?

This is exactly the mentality that got people to roll their eyes at anti racist activists. It’s a long shot. If one to say, it’s afro american, he steps my mistake on my leg, and I call him for it, he will blame me of being racist, even though my only problem with him is that he stepped on my foot. This is the case here. It’s a political problem. It doesn’t concern ethnicity, race, whatsoever. Romania has a part of it’s country ripped of and made an independent state (the other banner above) after the ww2, and this is why they are relating with the serbs. As long as I am concerned, there is no racism involved. Nevertheless, I can see why this issue is delicate, I don’t want to offend no-one, I just wanted to give a little context to the issue.

        Have a great day!
