      Thrower spinning shoes are kinda slippery and have circular ‘traction’ lines. But yea they generally wear out pretty quick

    What a weird sport. It’s crazy that there was so much resistance to adding skateboarding in 2020 while this has remained a staple.

    I don’t mean that disparagingly at all. It’s just a weird tradition

      Judging a skateboarder’s performance has too many variables. Throw big rock far is an easy contest to measure and watch.

        Judging a figure skater’s performance has just as many variables! There are other more direct examples but the “controversy” around skateboarding came to mind first

            Honestly I’ve always held the belief (not strongly, mind you) that competitions with judges doing the scoring aren’t really “sports” since you’re at the mercy of opinion, not game rules. My personal definition isn’t universal and is of course based on nothing.
