While still certainly a greater percentage than you see with dems, I’d say most you hear about are lunatics. I (unfortunately) live in Trump country and I’d be quicker to say that most-to-all are simply really, really gullible and not very smart.

It’s really unfortunate, but republicanism has become so ingrained into rural culture from a history of being neglected by mainstream politics that there’s basically no way for them to feel like some city liberal is actually representing their interests, because they have no idea what to actually look for policy-wise, so they simply latch onto presented relatability. And they’re really, really suceptible to conmen like trump who have a lot of hollow words and no actions to back it up.

Oh, and then you have those rich businessmen who just vote/lobby republican by default because they’re historically more “business friendly”

I’d like to add a word to this and that word is “Branding” there’s probably better words.

Trump in the Republicans are Masters at branding, every nuance discussion a Democrat wants to have, these Republicans have a three-word phrase designed to create Boogeyman.

Stop the steel, groomers, lock her up, build a wall, taxation is theft, and so many more.
