Stumbled across this ginormous Mountain Shrub Mint at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I’m gonna try to get the wife to plant some in the garden. Don’t think it’s edible tho.

That’s really cool! Nice colors. I hope it grows as well as standard mint tends to around here.
I was reading that this giant mint does not spread like the other varieties, it is not considered invasive. I couldn’t find any info about making tea out of it so I suspect it’s mainly decorative. And also good for pollinators
That’s good to know. We have mint in our front garden bed and it spreads like crazy.
I’d take it out except my son likes to eat the leaves. I know this because he always comes back inside from the yard with very fresh breath lol
Ha! Nice. It is pretty aggressive spreading. In addition to the minty breath, my wife tells me it is also a good deterrent for mice. She put some in front of corner of our garage where we were finding mice getting in. It seems to work for that location
