@DecaturishNewsBot they need to have a pedestrian only signal, not mixed with green in the same direction. Drivers just aren’t looking for walkers.
We also need to actually punish drivers for hitting people.
The shocking thing in those 2 cases is that the car stopped.

If someone presses the button, especially at a wide spot like that where speeds can get high, all traffic needs a red, and no right turn
