What are some easily accessible sources of information about stoicism. I’m particularly interested in things that can be easily incorporated into our lives as reminders, or provide introductions for others.

Some that I’ve found include:

  • Stoic Meditations Podcast by Massimo Pigliucci. This has brief, ad-free readings from ancient stoics, followed by a little commentary from Professor Pigliucci. He completed 1093 reflections, finishing in 2022. Professor Pigliucci has also written a book on Stoicism, and created other podcasts on the topic. More recently, he’s focused on Skepticism.
  • Verissimus: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius: This is a graphic biography of Marcus Aurelius. It’s a fairly quick read, a good introduction, and a good refresher of his ideas, while putting it into the context of his life. I think the ‘graphic novel’ format works well for emphasizing how overwhelming his life could be, and what he had to overcome to maintain tranquility and avoid becoming a tyrant.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are creating Stoic podcasts and Youtube channels. I’ve also heard that many of the popular ones are a real bastardization of Stoicism, apparently trying to cash in the ‘tough guy’ image of Stoics or infatuation with the Roman Empire.
