    That last example is eye opening: the VAR ref sees it as an elbow to the chin for a red card, but the on-field ref disagrees with him and sticks with a yellow card. That’s some cojones to disagree with someone who has spent a decent amount of time looking over and over at more angles than they really have time to show.

    If you don’t know, PRO (the company that handles refereeing in MLS) posts Inside Video Review weekly and it shows behind the scenes of video reviews that happened that week. Hearing the conversation the VAR team and on-field ref has is really interesting and I’ve learned a lot watching them.

    This week, the first review is ATLUTD with the trip of GG and why it ended up not being a PK.
