Spurs going from unbeaten & top of the league to fighting to retain 4th against Aston Villa in just a week is one of the many the reasons why the EPL is the best in the world

Not really, it shows how we (spurs) were overperforming. We were never title contenders.

It was good while it lasted, and will be interesting to see what our true position is. If we get top 4 this year, that would be unreal

I was literally just saying to a friend of mine how, as a Liverpool fan, it feels like a shit season, yet we’re freaking second only a point behind City.

The best league in the world where the same team is going to inevitability win for the 6th season out of 7.

We’re only 12 games in so it’s not really anything big. By feb there will be a larger gap between 1st and 4th and then 5th to say 12th

This afternoon there was only 2 points between 9th and 15th.

The narrative difference for a Brentford for example is massive.

I mean, there’s 3pts between 1st and 5th. A single loss will drop you down the table.

No-one was going to go unbeaten. Was fun whilst it lasted, but I’m quite confident in saying that won’t happen again.

Well the drop is gonna be a lot steeper in the games to come. The spine of this team is Vic - Romero + VDV - Madders - Son. The entire middle of that spine is now gone with no capable backups. The bright side is Ange is great and the future is positive.

Love it when they play high line against 9 men to ‘instill mentality’ last week. Lmao

For me it just reinforces that there’s no point in looking at the table until Christmas.

So many things left too happen and momentum shifts that can come

Also shows what it means when you stop having the easiest schedule ever.
