A guy I was speaking to who does roofing work was telling me how the tariffs were doing damage to him in real time. The tariffs massively increased the price of metal roofing he needed for jobs that were already locked into contracts that hadn’t accounted for the sudden tariffs and it basically destroyed his business.
Im slightly suprised this is just happening, I know this is anicdotal with very little evidence but has felt like its been shrinking for quite some time
I’m guessing it’s a combination of numbers having been cooked since the pandemic, and the tariffs hitting the job market on top of that. We’re just hitting a point where it’s no longer possible to pretend that everything is fine.
It’s this. They just can’t hide how bad it is anymore.
