Gov.Ā Gavin Newsom on Friday accused the Trump administration of ārigging the electionā by dispatching federal poll monitors to five California counties, as voters cast ballots on NewsomāsĀ Proposition 50Ā redistricting measure.
The Department of Justice announced Friday that it would deploy personnel to polling sites in Fresno, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties to āensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law,ā ahead of the stateās Nov. 4 special election.
In an interview with KQEDāsĀ Political Breakdown, Newsom said the move was a āsetupā for the Trump administration to cast doubt on the potential victory of Proposition 50 ā a planĀ to redrawĀ the stateās congressional district lines to advantage Democrats.
Stop relying on elections to save you. You canāt vote your way out of fascism. The only way out is through mass civil unrest. Strikes, blackouts, protests.
But that point of contention is too important. Dems need to take the house in order to build the narrative that precedes the unrest. Itās going to be a lot harder to send that message if they appear too unpopular to do that.
Thatās why they need to control the media narratives.
And why they want to make negative opinions of the regime illegal.
Once theyāve made it illegal and can control the media they now have created an environment of fear where no one even trusts their neighbor.
The knock on effect is that it is now harder to organize resistance because even expressing dissent has been outlawed.
