The way this has been reported is so cringe. It’s presented as if the league have literally voted on just whether Newcastle can loan Saudi players, completely obfuscating the fact that multiple clubs are part of a fleet ownership of clubs globally

    Also breaking News.

Man U can sign players from Nice Chelsea can sign players from Strasbourg Palace can sign players from Lyon Man City can sign players from 23 clubs around the world.

I know where I’d be looking for good signings in terms of value and ability and it wouldn’t be the Saudi League.

I can’t see Newcastle being that interested in signing 35 year old, past their best, overpaid players like Benzema, Ronaldo, Henderson. It’s a stark contrast to what we’ve seen them do in the transfer market.

Ok we might just about do a loan deal for Neves.

So you are telling me… the Saudis can sign a player for 100m and lend him out to Newcastle for peanuts?

Or even better. Sign a Newcastle player and loan him out to Newcastle.

UEFA need to intervene and say you can’t loan players in from countries that do not adhere to FFP.

The PIF could essentially sign Mbappe, Haaland, Bellingham et al, pay them 2 million a week and just loan them out to one of their European clubs.

NUFC fan here and I think there should be a ban on transfers between clubs owned by the same people.

It’s annoying that it’s been massively ignored for years until Ashworth did an interview saying he was aware of the opportunities, but that’s modern football.

How about they vote on Saudi ownership for English clubs? Let’s get SA out of sports.

Watch all this kick off about Newcastle and always mentioning our name yet we won’t loan a single player from Saudi, just to shut everyone up

Bet some of the other few that voted against will though & nothing will be said about it

We’ll get mentioned in every article for NOT doing it, than say Chelsea would if they actually used this to their advantage

Could this allow Newcastle to loan players on long term from Saudi clubs for a minimal fee thus avoiding FFP regulations?

Long term thinking, could Saudi clubs buy big names (as they are doing) and loan to Newcastle for a pittance. Thus giving Newcastle a strong squad at minimal spend?
