Summary: the Iranian government has intensely used lethal force on protesters. In Tehran alone, several hundred people have been killed. In the whole country - most likely several times more.

Some accounts:
Sky News, quoted in the article, says that in Tehran, as of Sunday, 466 protesters have been killed. Videos of the identification of bodies by relatives at the Kahrizak forensic medicine center confirm a very large number of dead people. Information about other cities is unavailable and information from Tehran may be incomplete.
Opinion:
There happens to be an influential person who promised to help the protesters - he’s called Donald Trump. I think he should fulfill his promise really fast, because a lot of them are already dead.
I’m a random anarchist from Eastern Europe, and haven’t promised to help them, but would like to. But I don’t speak their language, don’t have contacts there, and likely cannot penetrate the information blackout organized by Iranian government, and could only help with information, not material resources. So I would kindly request the person who promised to protect them to fulfill his promise, preferably yesterday.
Proceeds to make suggestions about how the biggest authoritarian in recent history needs to be authoritarian.
Please provide an alternative suggestion then.
How about white men — who historically have been drawing lines on maps of land that isn’t theirs, colonised, raped and pillaged, which generated the biggest racial wealth inequality in human history — should perhaps stop doing what white men have historically been doing.
It’s okay to be white and say: Iran? No clue, but I hope things get better for those who have it worse than us, but ultimately whatever solution is found, it has to be their solution, not ours.
In short, your proposal, is to do nothing while they get killed.
I’m going to ignore your proposal and try doing something, even if not very effective.
Western intervention in regime change will kill far more Iranians than doing nothing. I could be wrong about that, but the West does not have a good track record.
I think it’s also important to note that the current Iranian regime took power from the brutal dictator that was installed by western powers who overthrew a democratic government.
I sympathise with the Iranian people who are suffering. I just don’t see a way to intervene that won’t make things worse.

That’s what you call it.
Generationally, leaving neighbours and others to do their own thing is actually quite hard.
Do what you will. But don’t call yourself an anarchist then either.
And I’m positive that if your main concern is to do something, there is plenty to do in your own country or neighbourhood.
Oh pardon me, high gatekeeper of the anarchist label, for offending thee ever since 2006, whence I usurped that label and filed off the serial numbers too, and used said stolen label to participate in demos, squat a few houses, start an autonomous social center, help out other people with their autonomous social centers, participate in really really free markets, do vegan dinners and picnics, open a freeshop and help run it, and write software that is free and open source - all the time using this label in violation of your highnesses command of only spreading the Official Anarchism (as cast in the Concrete Tablets of Official Anarchism by high-standing and indisputable anarcho-bureaucrats)… and I confess I’ve written political articles under that false label too, denouncing populism and sometimes promoting sortition. I fully expect your high anarchisticalness to promptly tell me that I have indeed done all this wrong, and my life has been in vain.
More concisely: I don’t need your advise to check if something is anarchist. Get off your high horse or ride into the sunset on it.
Hey pot, meet kettle
Anyway, if you’re that easily offended, you should not call yourself something that triggers you when one anonymous internet dweep on his high horse riding in to the sunset calls you out for briefly not being very anarchistic (unless you’re already in Iran now, because borders are a nation-state control mechanism, and you’re protesting side by side with some protesters that need your Eastern-European ass more than the many refugees trying to find a better life in Europe)
Due to the trigger you didn’t really understand what I am trying to tell you, so anyhow, warm regards from here at the sunset.

Here is a site reporting on Iran from an Anarchist lens. Apologies for not having an English translation

As for Trump his “promise” is worthless. In all likelihood what would happen is the removal of the Supreme Leader of Iran (and likely other important figures of the regime.) and a demand the council of clerics name a Supreme Leader who is more subservient to the US.
Some more information written by anarchists a few days ago. Thus, already outdated, but providing it regardless.

Yes the US should take over yet another country, what a great idea for long term stability… That is literally how we ended up here
I think the US is not currently capable of “taking over” Iran, and that should not be a goal.
But it might be capable of assisting the protesters enough for them to prevail. I just worry that it won’t, and there will be a considerably bigger massacre in Iran than the ones that have occurred in recent history.
A thing to fear would be a prolonged civil war in Iran.
Civil War would suck. But at the same time it’s would give the people the opportunity to have their self determination and walk their own path
All the US will do is insert another dictator to be leader like they’ve done in the past. I don’t understand how you can still think that they’ll do any good when they have a history of making things worse.

This is legitimately Trump’s chance to be eligible for a peace prize but I guess it’s easier to extort someone else’s
