This is why I think we need a split award. MLB has the Cy Young for the best pitcher, and the MVP for every other position. You can win both in the same year as a pitcher, but you have to hit an even higher standard for that.
So whether it’s Most Outstanding Quarterback or “winning the Montana Award” or whatever, you get a designated QB award and open up MVP to WRs, RBs, DBs, Dlinemen, hell maybe even an olineman if somebody has that crazy a season. And doing it like that wouldn’t even force you to get rid of OPotY or DPotY either, so why not?
