City will not get punished because again they will not give up evidence freely and stonewall the premier League every step of the way and it will pay off. Everton were punished because they didn’t hide it, Chelsea might be punished because they went to the premier League with evidence. Clubs will all catch on soon that it’s better to hide your wrong doing and not be honest.

It should simply become a rule to not turn over evidence. The set punishment for violating this rule is two league relegation.

Everton we’re in dialogue before and during their breach. That’s not the same as you’ve told their story.

The truth is that PSG shown the way. You fail ffp, hold your hands up and admit it, you don’t conceal it or lie about it, you just plainly say sorry and get a fine.

Or they’ll just buy off who they need to buy off, not like City’s owner is short of cash. He’s got literally endless money.

The premier league don’t have time barring issues, when they eventually come to a decision they are going to have to give an extra ruthless punishment for the evasion, even if they are innocent of the actual charges

They are terrified of an independent regulator, they won’t go lightly on city. That’s why Everton got such a sizeable punishment

Yes but the premier League don’t really want to punish City, so they will just say no evidence was found so no punishment

Any source on them not wanting to punish city or just a guy feeling? The premier league is made up of city and the 19 other teams. Why wouldn’t the 19 other teams want to punish a cheater?

The premier league is more than the 20 teams in the league, it’s a business and brand in itself. The other 19 teams definitely will want city punished but the premier League as a business and brand won’t. It’s not because city are special above everyone else but having the team that has dominated the league over the last century shown to have been cheating in order to achieve it will damage the brand. If the premier league really cares about fair play then they would never have let state ownership happen. However they don’t, they care about money and making the league the biggest in the world. So they will try to let city go unpunished, it’s not like these accusations were not obvious to everyone when they happening same as the Chelsea ones.

City can’t change their story or evidence. They will be found guilty of the seven serious breaches. It’s unfathomable to see any way they can get away with it. This will, according to precedents, be in the form of point deductions in the region of 10-12 each (quite likely a few more for the Mancini breach), and reduced to half on appeal (precedent again, and we will see Everton’s appeal before then).

The rest will be fines, possible a transfer ban as well.

Once you dock them 5+ points they probably don’t win the league. If you dock them 60 points they’re fighting relegation. Anything in between is more or less the same outcome.

They can’t be relegated, because the rules don’t allow. In theory you could expel them from the league, which puts them out of all leagues. CAS would overturn that as too harsh, and rightly so.

City know this, they calculated for all this. You’re going to see an appealed points deduction of less than 60 and a fine that they can afford. That’s it. The consequences will never match the benefit of the cheating. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What would really hurt them more than a transfer ban, fine or points deduction would be a wage cap. Say they go relegated to the Championship and their wage bill couldn’t exceed £15 million a season for the next 5 seasons.

Relegation isn’t an option, because it’s not in the rules, and can’t be. A wage cap is also not in the rules and it would require substantial notice to write it into all players contracts.

I didn’t say either were in the rules. I said it would hurt them more. I think it would be a better and more appropriate punishment than a fine, a points deduction or a transfer ban.

They need to spread the points deduction over multiple seasons. 10 points for 6 seasons. Otherwise you are completely correct - take the hit in one season and it was totally worth it.
