As much as I want to make the playoffs. If AS spent even a zeptosecond longer in the A I would lose my shit

It depends how we get into the playoffs. Do we win the rest of our games and get in? I guess that means smith has improved enough to stay. Win three more games and make it because the division is ass? Not as exciting.

I think even if we make playoffs this year, Blank expects us to be in playoffs the next year as well. Smith is definitely in the hot seat rn and moving forwards. His job security isn’t safe until we get a playoff win tbh

Finish 9-8 and make the playoffs, ok, I won’t like it, but he “earned” another year.

8-9 or less and make the playoffs, hell no.

The chances of us winning the Super Bowl are legitimately zero. What would be the point of making the playoffs and getting a lesser pick in the draft.

We’ve literally never won a Super Bowl. Why are your expectations “either we win the superbowl or we need a top 10 pick”?

Because if you don’t have a chance to make a legitimate playoff run, you might as well not even be there. Going 8-9 and getting served by the Vikings in the wild card round isn’t fun for anyone and it doesn’t help build an actual contender

I root for the Falcons to win every game they play. There is no guarantee any of us will see next year. If we wake up and it’s game day, that’s a win. If we win on game day, that’s a double win. If we lose, that sucks, but I got to watch them try, so that’s a win too. Perspective affects your life more than any millionaires playing sports ever will.

    LMFAO
we have missed the playoffs for the last FIVE years. I think like the 3rd biggest streak after the jets and lions. We have picked top 10 like 4 out of the 5 last years and u guys wanna do it again?

We go to the playoffs and lose. Then have a hell of a schedule next year for making the playoffs. Then we go 4 and 13 next year because our schedule is tough and roster is the same. We picking high regardless.

you don’t know any of that. Going from a bad team to a good one doesn’t happen in one offseason, there are steps lol.

Look at the Eagles in 2021. They got blown out in the playoffs by the Bucs after going 9-8 with a very easy schedule. Back then it would’ve been easy to say they should have just tanked and got a good QB (Hurts wasn’t rated highly back then). Now they are arguably the best team in football.

There is no replacement for playoff experience and it would help our team and culture way more than another top 10 pick.

That was year 1 of Sirianni and Hurts was a second round talent. We’re in year 3 of AS and have no long term QB solution. The situations aren’t remotely comparable.

Let’s not kid ourselves with false hope. Maybe, just maybe, we win a squeaker in the wild card, but there’s absolutely no way we could beat PHI, SF, or DAL. Other than our opening win against the now 1-9 CAR we’ve won our other three other games by a total of 6 points.

I have to give the defense credit. That side of the ball looks much better than in recent years, but we have to score and have been quite miserable at that.

Nah bro screw losing. I’ve watched this team get blown out in a Super Bowl, absolutely collapse in another, and lose pretty consistently in between. People hype up coaching changes thinking the new hot coordinator will fix things. Sometimes he does, but our luck hasn’t been as good. Quinn had success, but didn’t pan out and Smith was the guy and look how that’s turned out. Not to mention the numerous names in between like Mora, Mike Smith, the abomination that was Patrino, etc.I just want a damn winner so I’m hoping Arthur gets his shit together and turns this around.

People wanting to lose out baffle me, yes you get vindicated that its a bad team like you say and a higher draft pick

You also resign yourself to an entirely new rebuild and regime and basically throw out winning anything next year too when in reality were a couple free agents and good draft away from being a reliable playoff team that free agents will want to sign to. Nobody will attach themselves to a sinking ship or play to their full potential and risk injury for a team that’ll get maybe 5 wins
