Look at today for example. Yes Doku completed some dribbles, but most times Trent funneled him to the byline or inside and Doku wasn’t really threatening for the most part. Yet the prevailing narrative is that he got destroyed by Doku.

He has actually been decent to good at defending this season yet people say he’s been a horrific defender. I don’t think this is quite true if you watch him play.

I won’t claim that he’s an amazing defender but he’s not a bad one either, he’s just a perfectly average to good defender but the narrative is that he’s a liability. It’s frustrating to see.

Thinking purely about the 3 England RBs, James. Walker and trent. I think walker has the best defence of the three and less attacking. Trent has the best attack and less defence, and James is like a jack of all trades, offers a bit of both sides. Now I will say, I’m not the biggest fan of trent, not sure why really, just because. However, he does offer so much going forward. I have to say, I think he suits a midfield role better but that’s just my opinion. And I don’t think he’s quite as bad defencively as people have made him out to be, I think it’s mainly because he plays well going forward which has got him into talks about being the best RB when he’s not really a conventional RB and heis defence capability is being compared to the likes of walker and James. I’m not saying he doesnt have his moments defencively but out of the three, he does have the worst defence.
