I’m genuinely curious if this is another one of those cases where wishing harm onto someone is somehow considered a “death threat”.

This guy is 100% incorrect unless he was physically assaulted The Fan did not cross any lines. This dude is a giant, spoiled, entitled prick. and I want everybody here to think of a combination of words That would make you assault a person and risk a $30 million contract get back to me with the answer. Shoot give me the 30 million I guarantee to volunteer eight hours of my day 6 days a week helping needy people until the day I have to go back to work lol.

      I totally agree.

But literally if a stadium can’t bounce fans who have made mortal threats about a player and/or a players’ family… what are we even doing?

Like in Europe if fans say racist shit the home team has to play their next game with no fans…

The whole narrative from the NFL doesn’t make sense, if the fan said what was said, the whole league should be warned that this is unacceptable crowd security; and if it isn’t true Lawson should be suspended.

The Lincs staff is actually very good at tossing rowdy people. At a snow game years ago there were guys throwing snowballs from the nosebleeds at the opposing sideline (they were so far up they weren’t even getting them lol) but they all got tossed.

This. If the guy made any threats, throw his ass out. I’m skeptical though that it really happened as are clearly a lot of folks in this thread. You’d like to think the majority of people buying tickets especially on the sideline that close to field have some common sense not to say some really dumb shit like that.

Players should get to punch one fan per season. Most of them are gonna use it on someone bitching about fantasy points

I’m not going to defend the fan here, but an apology the contains “but” is not an apology.

Ok but it’s the “apology” merited by the situation he describes. He should acknowledge it’s wrong to push, while also providing his (valid) explanation

Whenever stuff like this happens I refuse to believe what the player says unless they specify what the fan actually said

        100%

Players have accused each other of saying stuff that starts a fight in the past and so often it’s some “he said a really offensive thing and I don’t want to clarify”

        Clarify

That way we can look through video and find evidence to back you up. He very well could be telling the truth but it screams of “I fucked up and need extremely vague reasoning to try and brush away behavior that will get me in trouble”

“Before the game started yesterday, there was a fan behind our bench, who was making life threatening remarks towards us and our families. We asked Philadelphia security to remove the fan, but he was allowed to stay for the entire game."

If he was a fan, and not a player, I’d describe this as your average day at Lincoln Field as an away fan.

The red zone game thread was full of fans of other teams trying to shit on the Eagles fans for shitting on the team a quarter earlier and the overwhelming response by Eagles fans was a more expletive version of “they deserved it”, “good it makes them play better”, “bullying works”, and even “they’re still playing like shit despite the lead”. Philly is a different breed and people gotta be ready for it if they’re gonna play there whether for the Eagles or against the Eagles. This dude is charming soft.

Someone should send him the video of Bill Burr shitting on Philly to a sea of boos from thousands of Philly residents.

He won them over without a positive thing to say about them lol.

I bring this up whenever it’s relevant, which is a lot. Everyone in Philly who watched the first “home” game during COVID when the stands were empty all agrees that the fake boos should have been louder when we started playing like shit. In the first quarter. We played like dogshit in our first home game since lockdown started and I fucking booed the Birds, and I’d do it again. I have. And I wanted the boos louder because they goddamned deserved it.

The Eagles are a cult and if they players want to enjoy the benefits of that, they can’t play like ass.
