As long as I don’t have to actually eat kimchi, this development is exciting.
You don’t like kimchi?
Unfortunately, I do not. It’s because the person who introduced me to it was trying to make it themselves and were full of false confidence. It always tasted like old cole slaw that had been rinsed in the sink.
I might give it another go, however.
This is just what it tastes like… that’s why they add hot sauce so it stops tasting like a moldy coleslaw sock.
Dude who made it was “mayo is spicy” white so there was basically no hot sauce. I’ll have to try it again then.
I also dont eat it on its own. I use it as garnish. There are a lot of nasty cheeses out there but when paired so they are not the main flavor they become wonderful. Kimchie is the same way imo.
Example, ill make ramen and put a bit of kimchie in the bowl after the ramen is ready. You dont cook it with things though as that will kill the probiotic and with no probiotic… why the fuck are you eating kimchie unless you are a psychopath…
Enjoy!
You can cook with it too, it adds a nice tangy flavor plus some complexity. But like you said, This Kills The Bacteria
Ahhh… Good pointers. I appreciate it.
Jesus… They fed you a dish rag that’s never been properly rinsed, wrung, and dried.
Yeah you definitely aren’t supposed to eat it on its own. You can but it’s not good when you do. Has to be paired with other things to make it taste good.
This is the most fucked-up thing I ever saw anyone say on here.
The report says it’s lactobacillus from kimchi, so any lactobacillus fermentation might work if you like other pickles. However you do have to be careful with lacto fermentation because of the salt content’s association with gastric cancer
