  • Technically true, he didn’t necessarily say he has done more good than anyone. Murder is definitely something you do.

Seriously though, how do you expect kudos for providing aid to a victim that only exists because of you. It’s like stabbing a guy and asking to be praised when you had him a bandage. Or maybe more accurately, supplying a mugger with a knife and then handing the victim a burger.

Who is this meant to appeal to? People who are against the genocide aren’t going to be swayed by it, and it would probably turn off the pro-genocide crowd who just want more murder.

  • I had a friend who worked at a military contractor (he has since got out) and he can attest to the fact that they overcharged for every single line item, even replacement bolts could be $50-100+ PER BOLT. The military will sign off on absolutely anything.

Anytime I see people post the meme bragging about how much the US spends on military like it means they have the best military, it doesn’t. They have the most wasteful military by a mile. I do not doubt that most countries, even with smaller militaries, have much more efficient spending.

  • That’s tentatively great to hear, though I am honestly surprised that they got that pushed through there.

Now whether or not it will actually happen is something I’d like to keep an eye on. As an example, the employers side citing the freaking games industry as a good model of work-life balance is absolutely ludicrious. Hopefully the trade unions get more traction on their proposals instead.

Not Korea, but we have a similiar work culture with a lot of the same issues and been trying all sorts of reforms to cut back on people literally dropping dead from overwork and while there are some improvements, a lot hasn’t stuck. People often don’t report their working hours correctly, work without clocking in, and management sometimes looks the other way if they are benefiting.

Admittedly, our efforts were pretty lackluster. We tried a Premium Friday for a while that encouraged companies to give their employees the last friday of the month off. Besides having as much impact as a pizza party, I don’t know a single company that did it.
