If they’ve managed to make a decent live action adaptation of any Japanese media I’m impressed for them. Cowboy Bebop, the Resident Evil tv series come to mind as their mos trecent failings. I think One Pieces kind of cartooniness is something that can be adapted in live action so its good to see them actually do it.
Maybe, I honestly love going to the movies but it seems the age of the generic blockbuster is done really. It’s nearly all sequels or franchises. I want to wathc something not particulary groundbreaking but still interesting and not need to watch it’s five previous movies.
The last movie I felt scratched that itch for me was the DnD movie which was relatively detached. I like movies like that and I wish there were more. Don’t get me wrong I like a good franchise but when everything is a franchise it’s maddening.
I am fully willing to admit half the reason it’s so popular on the news is the novelty of it. A submarine goes missing, possibly sunk, near the Titanic? The truth is the accidents iwth immigrants and migrants happen so often that most of the media doesn’t really care about it so much any more. But it used to, I remember seeing stuff about bodies washing up on the shores of Italy. When it was novel is was more popular and ‘sold’ well so it was reported on. i guarantee you if subs went missing anywhere near as often in the future you would not see as much about it. That’s just how the media works these days, it’s unfortunate.
Billionaires or not I don’t envy them and if they can be saved I hope they will be. Especially the young guy there with his father.
Yes. This movie drives me up the wall because there is so much to like about it, but the eway it ends is not good. When watching it at the theatre as it was getting close to the end, I was wondering how they were going to wrap up so much stuff soon or was the movie longer than I thought. When that to be continue stuff happened I was disappointed and a bunch of people in the theatre either groaned or actually audibly complained. I remember some kid shouting “WHAT!” at the top of his voice.
It also imo heavily ruins the film as it stands because it makes the entire film feel like a movie cut in half so I cannot enjoy it over the original Spider-Verse. Maybe part 2 will be great, but imo these two films are always going to be stained somewhat by the fact that they do not open and close well. There’s been films that hint at follow ups that ended way more satisfying that this. Empire Strikes back, Dune, and Fellowship of the Ring come to the mind. Across the Spider-Verse doesn’t have that clear closing but still hint for more that those movies did.
I mean it wasn’t a meme. Bethesda games are buggy on release. The PS3 edition of Skyrim was notoriously not fit for release, I honestly do not think that level of bugs would ever have been tolerated nowawdays. It’s also something that Microsoft’s QA team really ought to be credited for because it seems they are the reason this game stands out amongst Bethesda releases in recent years.
That said imma wait till a few days afterwards just in case. And the story getting bad reviews is not unsurprising as Bethesda has not really had a good one since Morrowind, or maybe Point Lookout in F3.
