  • I don’t know why you chose the title you used. I would’ve upvoted this post but i couldn’t because of the title. Violence absolutely is the right course of action in certain circumstances. Violence should never be used first, but once all non-violent means have been tried and failed to correct a grave injustice, then violence becomes the appropriate action for any moral person.

If you do nothing while you watch a murderer kill an innocent person, then part of the guilt falls on your hands. As the saying goes “the only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.”

  • I rightly celebrate when evil is destroyed. That ceo killed a huge number of innocent people just so he could make himself even ultra wealthier. That’s true evil. The shooter is an absolute hero.

In a better world the serial killer ceo would go to trial and be jailed for the rest of his life. But in the world we actually live in, the ceo would have faced zero consequences for his evil acts, and he would’ve continued living a life of ultra wealth while he continued murdering thousands more innocent people. So in lieu of legal consequences, shooting him is the most good thing that anyone could’ve done.

  • Lemmy needs better sort options. Certain communities get a ton more posts than other communities, so their posts wind up being a huge percentage of the front page.

Lemmy needs a hot+diverse sort option that weights against posts in a community that already has a lot of posts on the the front page of hot.

I don’t want to block those communities, i just want to see other topics too

  • I think OP means there aren’t a lot of use-cases where a non-english language is helpful in communicating more than english is. Like if you learn swahili, there aren’t a lot of people around the world who speak that language, and you’re unlikely to run into any of them. Millions of people speak swahili, and I’m sure that it has wonderful elements (as all languages do), but there are way more english speakers, and english is spoken in many more places around the world
