“Our technology can be thought of as ‘indirect air capture’ because the ocean will take more carbon dioxide out of the air above it to replace the carbon dioxide that we’re removing.” Hornbostel said.

Uplifting news that isn’t boring (Bob did well in school his whole life.) and doesn’t imply bad things happening (the community came together to save Jill from a life in the slave pits of Hoth) is actually a challenge.
What would be an example that was interesting with no negative connotations? Maybe news of scientific and engineering breakthroughs? Children who rise above a good but boring life?
Dark Souls II I am really enjoying it. I think this is my new 2nd favorite souls game after DS1.
I assumed it was intentional.
No, it’s a lie. They wouldn’t say yes, so saying that they would say yes is a lie.
Only thing I care about is that they keep the split controller design. It’s the only controller I can easily use while walking on a treadmill. Holding a controller with two hands while walking is awkward. The split controller allows me to swing my arms normally.
I understand the downvotes, but that law really needs reforming. The labels need to say in what way it can cause harm. I remember seeing a piece of wood (pressboard) labelled as carcinogenic at Home Depot. I couldn’t figure out what that meant. Is it ok as long as I don’t burn it? Is it bad to breath near it? Is it only dangerous if I eat it?
Labels need to be more specific about possible dangers.
I never thought of Sin City being different in that way. But it is. Whole sections are just the current character talking to themselves.
I hated the Mule in the books. Wrecked the books from that point on in my opinion. But, loved everything in foundation before that.
Hey HobbitFoot! Are you related to the Hobbiton Proudfoots/feet?
Feel free to join us at !hobbit_art@hobbit.world and post some of your hobbit family artwork.
If I browse !lemmy@lemmy.ml I don’t see this post. Only see it via the website. I really hope they implement post linking soon.
Oh, maybe !announcements@lemmy.ml

I’d recommend just getting a steam deck if you don’t just want to get a PC. The variety of indie titles and the lower cost just beats any of the standard consoles.
A PC is even better, but the cost of the initial hardware is probably higher. But you can’t beat the price of the games or the variety of games available. And the PC won’t expire the way modern online consoles do.
I have a PS3 that won’t play movies from disc anymore because its online service is down or something. Ridiculous.
I felt so proud when I finished that whole game without any hints. I was close to giving up a few times, but I’m so glad I kept pushing. It was so absolutely satisfying to walk off the boat knowing I’d done it all myself.
I noticed that occasionally. I just assumed it differed based on the instance of the post or something. My Lemmy experience has been a lot better since I switched away from lemmy.world. Used to have crashes but haven’t crashed since switching. But, lots of stuff is changing, so maybe it was something else.
The Connect client can hide posts based on keywords. I switched from Jerboa purely for that one feature.
That’s obviously someone making a joking point about karma.
Is that value stored on the home instance of the user? I think summing karma is a terrible measure of an account. So if it’s stored in the instance, I’ll update mine to be a large random value.
Maybe we can have the admins of all instances update the value for all users to a random value to make it worthless.
In summary, for our mental health, delete nextdoor and never look at national news. One is populated by busybodies and the other is just cancer.
Please tell us the exact model of wire strippers. If there’s something better, I would love to try it.
