  • The US had to do everything they could to delay decarbonization/energy independence since the petrodollar is one of their most useful tools for hegemony. Most analysis is pretty shallow. Although its correct that the oil giants are to blame. Their motivations go much deeper than just profiting off oil and “being greedy” as most “climate advocates” say. They tend to fall short of understanding the bigger picture, imperialism.

Chinese innovation in renewables is quickly undermining the american ability to smother independent governments like Cuba ect. So they may as well bring nuclear energy back to power ai.

  • I go through the same train of thought probably most days of the week

    -empire is crumbling

-how tf does no one care or see this

-it will get very bad, and potentially on the turn of a heel

    -I need a contigency plan

    -wait but is that selfish?

-fuck it, I don’t owe my (lack of) community anything -one less white person in North america if I leave

-wait I’m abandoning the inevitable victims to fend for themselves then

    -I need to read more

-no I need to buy beans and medicine ect

    *gives up

The only thing else I’ll add is to not undermine the propaganda value of leaving (specifically to China for your case). Although personally I want to go to Russia. Part of my family comes from Russia (doukhobor) so it just feel less… Idk, passport bro like.

Anyhow there is great value in being the communist person who went to China and is now living a much more desirable life. As opposed to getting arrested by palantir. But that’s probably cope. Idk

  • Anarchists are so remarkably uninterested in history and operate entirely off vibes its painful. A sibling of mine who was ““radicalized”” (by western academics like Angela davis ect) hasn’t meaningfully touched any historical accounts of revolutionaries, or projects ever. Theyre an avid reader unlike myself, but I asked to borrow Che: A memoir which I found in their house.

After reading some of it I joked about not wanting to read it in public because of how performative it feels. I asked them about the book, and what they thought of che (assuming they had read it). “I know its cliche but what do you actually think of Che himself”. I was worried that they would give some weird Anarchist " muhhh hierarchies and violence" answer or something.

To my dismay they said “oh idk I haven’t read that and idk much about che” 😫. Psychoanalyzing here but they’re my sibling so its valid here…I think they’ve intentionally stayed ignorant of “mainstream” and “cliche” figures or projects like Che, Cuba, USSR ect solely because it’s not cool, or esoteric enough.

What’s worse is that they are completely unaware of their hubris. I avoid talking directly about anarchism with them because I can’t imagine it going well because of their arrogance. They probably underestimate my level of education on such matters…

For awhile I held out and tried to reject the stereotypes about anarchists. But it got to a point. The stereotypes are honestly conservative. I am interested to see how they progress but I’m not optimistic.

  • I was recently wondering what China’s average hospitals are like. How far through development are they? As in are they effective but… unpolished, equally depressing to western ones. Or if they are already beyond western hospitals in all fronts, wait times, success rate for procedures, but also the hospitality.

I recently went to a Canadian hospital to get… a few stitches on a wound. Since there were no other “urgent care” places available. Which is a common occurrence (people going to the hospital for things that don’t need to be treated at a hospital, as well as many people not having “family doctors” or walk in clinics in their city). I was actually treated very quickly because the doc was ending his shift, and doing simple things to clear up space. Since every seat was full and many people were standing. Including a woman who was either pregnant or had problems with her uterus I think. I overheard she had already had a ultrasound… was in discomfort. She was still standing there when I walked out.

Anyways for those who don’t know Canadian hospitals are probably way worse than you expect. All beds are full, beds are in hallways. People are discharged prematurely to clear up space. Doctors are overworked and as a result give worse attention to detail ect. Recently some guy died in the emergency room after waiting for 8 hours with chest pain. Just found another, 16 year old died after 8 hour wait. He had sepsis and pneumonia.

Recently I know someone who had heart surgery and was discharged (negligently) despite not feeling well. They had a infection and had to go back… it could have been very bad.

Liberals love to run defense for Canadian healthcare because they’re so deluded that they think the only alternative is the American model. Yet Canadian hospitals are built and ran more or less in the same way to American ones… with capitalistic metrics in mind. Built reactively not proactively.
