Oct 1, 1949. Communist Party of China establishes the People’s Republic of China.
Then there’s the question of ‘Is China still socialist?’ which depends on what qualifies as socialist.

Oh in the American Dystopia they’ve abandoned the ‘love each other’ part. They still pay lip-service to the notion of loving families but absolutely no maintenance is put into it.
Rather they attack all forms of birth control such that if one uses sex to cope with the dystopian conditions, at all, there’s a likelihood you will be saddled with the economic burden of children. Doesn’t matter if it was a one-night-stand or if neither party is rationally old enough to be effective parents… hell traumatized kids may be even less effective at forming effective resistance to their power.
Honestly, that’s not enough for replacement, let alone population growth, and they know it. I’m certain they’re going to resort to even more dystopian methods as they have demonstrated not just a lack of care for Human decency but active contempt for the concept.
It’s still possible to avoid the worst of it. There’s still good games that don’t do many, or in some great cases any, of the shite shown as negatives for these games. It’s generally Indi games that avoid these practices while the so-called ‘Triple-A’ publishers shovel out shit laced with price-gouging tactics and expect us to be thankful for it.
Well said. Things will improve when the current dystopia is ash and bad memories.
Not really, this is to subvert crash regulations. These are legally considered light trucks and as such aren’t subject to the safety and emissions standards of vehicles that are legally considered to be cars.
Ah, yes. The Orphan Crushing Machine.
Considering after the Civil War it wasn’t uncommon to convict black men of… being black (seriously no crime listed, they were just made criminals because they’re black and now you have to be a criminal to be a slave) in order to continue the whole institution of slavery I would expect the ‘at some point’ figure to be much higher.
Easy answer for most people here; Capitalism is actively dystopian such that it will taunt us with any progress made in some sectors with the fact that it will never be available to us without crippling debt.
Only if it’s done by one of the god-kings of capitalism who also cares to spend some of their immeasurable power to launder their image.
I’d love to see the whole of the American Dystopia reduced to ash and bad memories.
You can start by becoming a worker’s cooperative wholly owned by the workers. This would be a preliminary step toward earning the kind of trustworthiness that would be needed for me to have even the remotest consideration that talking to you could help.
Essentially every aspect of our modern dystopia is a call for revolution. This however is special, not just a call for revolution but to ensure the perpetuators of our dystopia are properly punished.
This is one of the extremely few cases where I’m not sure if it’s Capitalism made it worse or there was just always some proportion of parents who were thing abhorrent.
Yeah, you don’t get ‘hard-coded credentials’ from some bug. This had to be intentional.
Honestly, fuck profit-seeking behavior in general and especially with insurance.
Finding perverse intensives in a profit-driven enterprise is a function of how hard you look and what industry. Some industries it’s plainly obvious (insurance) and with all industries a sufficiently good look will find something.
There’s a lot of things that in a non-dystopia would be good and correct that they are available… however that is precisely what we have, happy to twist and distort absolutely everything until regardless of the intention it is some form of cruelty. Then atop it all we’ve the final insult to our intelligence that somehow we’re the “unreasonable” ones or that we’re meant to find the inane position of meeting the advocates for dystopia halfway reasonable.
Only unrealistic part is Human sniper and the warning.
It’ll be a drone the moment a drone could make the shot with 50.1% odds. can make the shot in sufficiently few shots that cost of ammo & electricity beats wages for a sniper.
Honestly, at this point the only China/USSR bad talking pointthat comes to mind that I haven’t also found in the USA is bread lines… in no small part because the government here doesn’t care if you starve. If you want help jump through the hoops and be used as part of scarry statistics to demonize the poor.
Okay, so you’ve got one criteria: Socialized Medicine, care to list out the rest of them for how you determine if something is socialism?
