JimmyMcGill@lemmy.worldto Steam@lemmy.ml•Valve's reported profit-per-head from Steam commissions is out there, and at $3.5 million per employee it makes Apple and Facebook look like a lemonade stand4·21 hours agoIirc valve will even allow devs to generate as many steam keys as they want and sell them outside of steam for no cut whatsoever (and Steam will still provide support for the game on the launcher for those keys). And virtually no devs do it. They prefer to take the 30%. So that tells me that what they charge is more than fair to the devs

When Netflix had 90% of the shows that you wanted to watch and they weren’t annoying little fucks with account sharing and geo location, everyone was happy to support them
But once paying users feel like they are being taken advantage of, instead of catered to, they leave.
There’s so many cases where pirating is not only cheaper (duh) it’s actually a better product/experience. And when you charge to provide a worse product/experience than what people can get for free, then you can’t be surprised at the outcome
Final boss did it as well but I think the first time it was with Lady Butterfly? Is that her name.
The boss at the end of the first dream sequence
Fuck she really kicked my ass the first time around
And yea it’s the only souls game that I played but it’s really an amazing game. Hooked me in a different way to all other games.
I don’t remember which boss it was but when I was first playing Sekiro I finally beat this boss and the motherfucker comes back to life in a renewed form. Maaan it pissed me up so much for a second, then I got scared but then a bit after that it was actually a good challenge
It felt really good repeatedly kicking the part of the boss that took me so long to beat at first.

Probably a lot of people voted for him as first because they could have another, more known option as option 2.
Like in the National elections imagine that there was ranked choice. A third party would get a significant amount of votes, maybe even surpassing the democrats, but without this ranked choice, the inertia is just too high and it’s too risky to vote for them.
I think you mean -1180s
Fuuuuck this is depressing

Second, yes ofc it’s politics. Nobody is disagreeing on that.
Third even in Europe this is becoming a problem even if the inequality gap doesn’t grow as fast
JimmyMcGill@lemmy.worldto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders says that if AI makes us so productive, we should get a 4-day work week1·8 days agoYes new jobs will be created but more and more wealth is concentrated at the top
It’s not the apocalypse but it’s also not not bad in many ways.
Technological progress should only be a good thing but in a capitalist society like ours it has a lot of downsides too (for the majority of the population ofc)
I’m a member of a political party of the country I was born and can vote in, so I’m not like that
I agree with all of this but take into account that lots of people here don’t even live in the US (like me). And we get fucked by democrats being shit at winning elections too
JimmyMcGill@lemmy.worldto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders says that if AI makes us so productive, we should get a 4-day work week1·10 days agoSupposedly
But things need to become real bad
JimmyMcGill@lemmy.worldto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders says that if AI makes us so productive, we should get a 4-day work week3·10 days agoNobody is arguing that technology won’t progress. Even Marx defends that as a precondition for socialism/communism.
The question is the following. Tomorrow a ground breaking technology is developed that makes literally everyone twice as productive. (Please let’s ignore the technical aspect of this. I’m simplifying for the sake of the argument, but this is happening at some paces everywhere).
Now you have 3 options:
- Everyone can just work half the time for the same productivity. I.e. the economy can sustain itself with people just working less (which is a MAJOR quality of life increase).
- Everyone works the same amount of time but their salaries double.
- Everyone works the same amount of time. Their salaries increase a small %, perhaps keeping up with inflation, perhaps a tiny bit more than that, sometimes even not keeping up with inflation. The added productivity results in increased wealth aggregation at the top.
Number 1 is what people are talking about in this thread.
Number 2 won’t happen because salaries aren’t actually tied to productivity. Productivity just sets a higher limit on salary that in any case is never reached. The salaries are actually determined by competition between workers.
Number 3. Has been happening since the seventies and will continue to happen.
Yea but also tools
We don’t have to stop for water, we can bring some
Same for food
Our preys didn’t have such luck
Very late here but thank you for the post

Is it hipocrisy tho?
Like if you say to someone that says that we shouldn’t use single use plastics for food, that they still use single use plastics for their surgery, that’s not hipocrisy. Context matters.
Of course she isn’t going to deliver critical aid to where a genocide is happening via bicycle
Let’s see
I’m sure he will have basically only far right policies but he will call himself and the party “centrist” so I wouldn’t be surprised if some low information Dems fell for it as well
