World News@lemmy.world•Second Drone attack on the Flotilla for PalestineEnglish
42·2 months agoBut who else other than Israel has the motive to attack a humanitarian vessel? Not once but twice in two days and also has done the same to every single mission towards Gaza?
There’s only way to spin it. Did Israel even deny it?? They didn’t because they want people to know it was them. It’s a scare tactic and that doesn’t work if it’s some random guy with a drone

World News@lemmy.world•Israeli Drones Seen Above Flotilla of 50 Humanitarian Aid Ships En Route to GazaEnglish
17·2 months agoMeanwhile they’ll lose their shit if they see a small boat with refugees trying to enter their country
Ofc but those rules are there by design and are natural to the system
If the many have the control then it is hard for any one individual to gain control and rig the system for himself, because the many can kick him out
With capitalism you don’t have this natural control. You put in checks and balances that will fail eventually as they always did and then you’re screwed.
It doesn’t because the power and needs of the many are aligned in socialism and that’s not the case in capitalism
Within capitalism you need checks and balances so that the ruling class aka capitalist class doesn’t put their “needs” (more like desires”) above the needs of the majority
Within socialism the ruling class is the majority by definition they can’t exploit the system in their favor because that’s literally how it’s supposed to work.
So no, it’s very different
Capitalism that you mention that could work was the capitalism we had until the 70s and it’s what lead us to the late stage capitalism we have today
Even if you reset you will end up at this stage because accumulation of wealth and thus power will always occur and then the capitalist class has both the means and incentive to change the rules of the system and then they get more wealth and power etc etc
You can’t guard it unless you have power and under capitalism you don’t.
You gave the loaded gun to the capitalist class and then try to force them to do the “right” thing and not use the gun for bad stuff, except they have the gun… they’re not going to listen to you
Half truths aren’t facts nor science
Zurich for example
Maybe lowlands isn’t the best word but it’s not high up in the alps
Meanwhile in Central Europe there’s snowfall in the alps and max temperatures are below 15C even in the lowlands.
We’re so fucked
The enemy of your enemy is your friend

102·4 months agoLet’s see
I’m sure he will have basically only far right policies but he will call himself and the party “centrist” so I wouldn’t be surprised if some low information Dems fell for it as well

Steam@lemmy.ml•Valve's reported profit-per-head from Steam commissions is out there, and at $3.5 million per employee it makes Apple and Facebook look like a lemonade stand
4·4 months agoIirc valve will even allow devs to generate as many steam keys as they want and sell them outside of steam for no cut whatsoever (and Steam will still provide support for the game on the launcher for those keys). And virtually no devs do it. They prefer to take the 30%. So that tells me that what they charge is more than fair to the devs

8·4 months agoI mean this is obvious af
When Netflix had 90% of the shows that you wanted to watch and they weren’t annoying little fucks with account sharing and geo location, everyone was happy to support them
But once paying users feel like they are being taken advantage of, instead of catered to, they leave.
There’s so many cases where pirating is not only cheaper (duh) it’s actually a better product/experience. And when you charge to provide a worse product/experience than what people can get for free, then you can’t be surprised at the outcome

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•When You Beat the Last Boss of a Game
3·4 months agoI don’t remember which boss it was but when I was first playing Sekiro I finally beat this boss and the motherfucker comes back to life in a renewed form. Maaan it pissed me up so much for a second, then I got scared but then a bit after that it was actually a good challenge
It felt really good repeatedly kicking the part of the boss that took me so long to beat at first.

1·4 months agoHe probably would have still won but you can’t make that determination directly
Probably a lot of people voted for him as first because they could have another, more known option as option 2.
Like in the National elections imagine that there was ranked choice. A third party would get a significant amount of votes, maybe even surpassing the democrats, but without this ranked choice, the inertia is just too high and it’s too risky to vote for them.
I think you mean -1180s

Fuck yea brother/sister/whatever
Enjoy! It’s an amazing show
