Probably a tax thing. The company has to process the receipts in a proper way and it can not be certain stuff else it can’t be charged to the company’s account legally. The alternative for them might be that they have to pay VAT and income taxes over it.

7·3 months agoI don’t think you can, there are some conventions around this. https://www.unhcr.org/what-we-do/protect-human-rights/ending-statelessness/un-conventions-statelessness
So unless you have a second one the conventions prevent them.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•How does this thing work? (wrong answers only)
1·4 months agoIt’s actually pretty simple and old school tech. INside of the pole holding the fans it has a pattern that when getting hot expands. Together with gravity in now starts spinning and with every spin it starts going faster.

14·1 year agoI get your point and I believe people with a disability should get a sitting seat for the same price.
However, this can actually reduce the price for the sitting seat as well. As now more people will be able to fit in the airplane. Meaning that more people can share the costs of the plane. The whole goal of this is to be able to offer lower prices by lowering the costs.
In countries with a high amount of competition this is a good thing, of course in places where there isn’t you already have a situation in place where you are already being screwed, and then something such as this won’t help.
Wasn’t it possible to remove that button?

3·1 year agoYes, because the expectation is that if you keep your head low you will be tolerated. And this has been tolerated from both parties for many years after they are removed the legal visa for seasonal workers. Many people want cheap labour, and this is the way the government has been providing it. And yes in other countries this structure also probably takes places and in other countries they’ve made a more legal path to get this labour for their country. It is not as black and white.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Owing your home today is nearly impossible, but even if you did the ever increasing property taxes will bury you
2·1 year agoYea generally electronics is depreciated every 3 to 5 years. But I can imagine that after 3 years of children usage they are done for. That aside though, I think what you would be more looking for is a fair tax system.
What I think that the problem with local property taxes is that if a city relies on it too much to pay for everything then this causes too many issues. For a poor city this could mean that if they don’t increase the taxes they can’t afford basic school care which people expect. So they moved to riched areas who can provide that. Or they move because of the higher taxes. This in turn lowers the property value and decreases the taxes further. Which in turn increases the problem.
So I believe the educational budget should be provided by the central government so the same kind of quality in schools is given nationwide. This can of course be applied to other costs a city is making.
In addition to this I think a property tax should be progressive and link to your overall assets. If you just own one house and you don’t have any more assets. Then why should you be taxed as much as somebody who owns a lot more (of course if the house is 2m and you’re living of social security it is a different story. L

3·1 year agoOut of curiosity, for the first one. Would it have been possible to use that dirt on your boss to stay at the company? Of course I can imagine you just don’t want to work for a company where you’d have to do such things in order to stay with the company in the first place.
Actually I believe in some places the opposite happened and a lot of non-smokers started coming more.

Sure but we aren’t talking about an employee with a shabby salary. The higher the salary the higher the expectations normally are. In other cases with a more vulnerable employees. Hell yea I fully agree.
