Weirdly enough linuxmint with lutris + steam works fine for me. I followed this guide in order to figure out lutris configurations. Don’t download protonupqt though, just download through lutris.

Thats the thing about gaming specifically. Like there will always be piracy for steam to compete with, and opensource technology like proton, wine. I thank steam for contributing to linux gaming, steamdeck etc, but will drop them in an instant if they go bad.

10s of thousands? HELP

Steam has a monopoly: yes. Steam, like apple, takes a cut from all payments in the store, and micro transactions. Considering how Steam is a company, and could just be evil, and bad, like Google, it’s:
-Contributions and implementation of the opensource software Proton-Ge, which lets me just download a windows game and play it, off steam, and is also available, free & opensource on other platforms like Lutris. -Regular deals which make it the best place to buy games, if you choose to do so. -Steamdeck
Make it a (mostly) positive force, imho. However, a billion dollar company being able to do discounts below any small game distribution companies, is bad.

Ngl, she is my goat though. like she just fully came to a reasoned decision, she’ll be one of us soon.

Yes. Big Tech in general is pretty bad, at least the software side. (Except for Steam, my beloved.)

Yes lmao, but also democrat leaders need to be better at messaging then just “at least were not Trump.” Trump is a populist leader, the only one speaking for the far right and democrats are just … centre right. Clearly going left moderate like Mamdani is the way to get the votes.
What is zorin OS and what does Zohran have to do with this lmao
They believe any data given to google or other data collecting sites isn’t that intrusive, or if it is, won’t be read by a person etc. Its a nihilistic philosophy, that “They already have it all anyway.”

More illegal drugs in the white house than on these boats.
All browsers are based on an opensource model, even google chrome. A privacy respecting, fully opensource browser, in my opinion LibreWolf, make sure you can update it semi-automatically. If not Arkenfox or Brave.

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION. Using real life examples, the ocean definitely has thousands/millions? or human corpses, and maybe some really big, Ancient lakes/Rivers, have ten-hundreds of dead bodies (maybe thousands? if they’re really old) not that I’ve really thought about corpses in bodies of water before, but I feel comfortable after the fact, and would swim in oceans and lakes again, knowing there corpses.
Any body of water where I can see, smell or feel, or have seen smelt or felt a corpse, meaning any corpse I can distinguish as a corpse, to the horizon would be a body of water I could not swim in.
But in this circumstance, it’s a pool, and I know of the corpse in the pool. The pool would be shallow, and the corpse, on the other end of a pool. I could probably swim in a pool, quite uncomfortably, as long as I couldn’t see it when looking around all sides. It would also have to be really shallow, so I could stand up, assuming the corpse drifts over for a quick leaving protocal.
this is where ngl, the opensource community doesn’t win. I prefer Ableton hands down.

Although they didn’t pick LibreOffice, the project which I personally use, a move from the entire ICC to choose opensource software is insane. Hopefully, and likely any funding they will do to improve software will go to the opensource community

I am largely a beginner, I run mint on my desktop, and have just figured out wine/lutris. But I’m pretty good at following instructions, and researching issues to find a way to fix it.
Most people afraid of commitment are young. It’s because they want to experience different people before settling down, eventually finding “the right one” but like when they’re 30+ but some people want to commit and have children at 20.
