My parents still have one that’s probably older than I am. I figured it’s just some gimmick lock from back in the day that was marketed as “high security” because of the wierd looking key. They have a thing about this, y’know how some people have to have some kinda edge on the “rest of the plebs”, can’t just be normal and buy a normal lock, no they gotta buy… this thing.

My ICOM IC-7000. We take it out almost every weekend to a park and work some ham radio. Manufactured in 2006 making it 20 years old!

People still use those Abloy locks?

then my neighbor is gonna have an interesting conversation with the cops about how much illegal drugs he’s been ordering over the internet. Geez man, that’s not even a reasonable argument, nobody has an open wifi, it’s not 2001 anymore.

You probably don’t want to do this. People will get salty and DDOS your server. I ran a KF2 server for like 5 years and eventually the traffic overwhelmed my connection and I had to stop.

Discovered a fire in my garage. My sister had thrown a cigarette butt into an overfull ashtray which was also plastic, something combusted. I was none the wiser though and opened the door to the garage only to be greeted with an opaque, fuckin straight outta Dark Souls lookin, WALL OF GREY SMOKE. I slammed that door in a panic thinking that exact same “I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE NOW!”, ran out of the house and clicked the garage door opener as I went. We saw rolls of black smoke pour out of there but thankfully it was just a small fire and didn’t reach the walls. Scary shit considering zero smoke detectors went off!
I wish I knew. I spoke to my brother about this a while ago, and told him I’d never gone to a doctor because I always thought it was a “strength of will” thing. He told me that was insane. First thing he did was get to a doctor and get prescribed. The thought never crossed my mind.
Similarly I was watching some show with my partner and this guy in the show talks derisively to he daughter: “I bought you your anti-di-pressants, what more do you want?” And he’s stressing the word, like he believes it’s some kinda party drug. I think that mentality is a very real thing and hits other areas like birth control too. “I didn’t have this for ME and thus I resent you taking the easy way out!” seems to be the thought process.
Why do you think there’s such an interest in VFIO and passing a graphics card thru to a VM? You think all these people are just happily making their own cloud gaming Stadia clone? Nah fam, they’re fucking cheaters trying to hide their tracks. For every five legit posts there’s a “why can’t I get BattleEye/EAC to work in a VM?” JUST STOP CHEATING BRO

Back when I was in elementary school, I had a classmate named “Noah Bates” and they called him Master Bates as a joke. I didn’t understand at the time so I want home and asked my mom why they kept calling him that, and why this was supposed to be funny. She couldn’t explain, was all flustered, and eventually said that it was a sexual innuendo, which I also didn’t understand the meaning of. We never had any other serious discussions about sex or drugs. Parents never drank alcohol even so I figured it was a non-starter with them.
We had sex ed in high school, but they spoke of it in terms my brain didn’t understand. “It’s better than any drug” yes but I haven’t done any drugs yet, so that is a meaningless comparison to me. A pretty dry and technical rundown of it. The DARE officer brought that suitcase full of drugs that shows you what each one is supposed to look like, and all I remember is wondering what they all did. I also had to write a paper on why drugs were bad, and I got hallucinogens as a topic. The only thing I could come up with that misconstruing a dangerous situation and injuring yourself.

This used to confuse so many people because I swapped the hard drive for a 120 gig SSD. So I then had a 120 gig “60 gig” PS3. “the slim model?” No, the fat one “But then what model had…?” Yeah it was a pain to explain to some people what exactly it was.

Yes, we’ll get right on that! Who is paying for it again?
I would say no, because he never was a part of the original. IIRC, he’s a copy of this person’s memories before they even died, so he forked the progression of memories? The original would have lived, and died, with no continuity going over to the clone. The clone, upon receiving these memories, believes himself to be the original, but he’s wrong.
He was not even alive to begin with. Literally a robot following the instructions left by a recording of a human mind. He just thought he was a real human because the recording said/believed so.
A week or two? My mom’s got two-year old pickles in the fridge that she’s keeping to prove a point to me. I wouldn’t eat them tho!

Humans live and have lived and will live in every conceivable place on this planet. What’s gonna get wiped out is 99% of profits being made right now. We’ll survive, but our institutions won’t.
Everyone on every social media seems hostile these days. Maybe it’s a reflection of society’s anxiety?
…and that probably led to a three hour rant about who Liquid Snake is and why he’s important to the absolutely insane plot if that series.
Always always check what version of blender the tutorial is for! Later versions have automated and fixed so much annoying shit that you had to do/fix manually in older versions. Blender 5.1 is way different to 2.8! Also it doesn’t matter what menu it’s in because you can just search for that tool with the search function, bind it to spacebar.
Blender is actually amazing now (>5.0) and I feel like lots of people tried 2.8 and got scared because it was janky and it turned them off Blender forever.
Try not to think like this because when it does happen, it won’t be anything like what you’ve imagined. I always thought it would be a sudden, heartbreaking thing, but instead it was a year long slide into cat-dementia. I was lucky in that he stopped being his usual self months before it happened, giving me time to wind down my emotions when the day finally came.
