Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could see one statistic above every person's head, that is updated in real time and never goes away, what would you choose?
1·18 hours agoI did think the question implied this as a superpower you only have and it’s for one metric only. However, I am curious as to what governs the metric of how many “spoons” someone has left. It’s not like when I’m getting down to the wire I’m thinking “well I’ve got about 2 fucks left in me to give”.
It really is a shame on Lemmy that there’s generally a tone of dismissal when it comes to religion, even though it’s one of many things that I believe is to each their own. I’m glad you wrote this out, it’s succinctly put.
I was educated to not leave trash around whatsoever.

That’s because of our colloquial use of “made” in this context. Certainly “making” dinner is a different use of “made” than the one in this comic strip where all he did is “ask”, right?
Honestly some of the worst design I’ve seen. Looks like a pop-up store that would disappear within a week in DUMBO.

2·14 days agoWe’ve lost many critical thinkers in our time, with clickbait titles (many don’t really read the articles), “talking points” instead of substantive conversations, and lack of reading good literature (which I believe help to spur creative thought and can lead people to question things more often).

2·14 days agoIn our time, squeezing everyone for their worth is all there is left for these people to get rich. They’ve run out of ways to squeeze and so are going for the last hurrah.

2·16 days agoI guess it hinges on whether you think a “successful” state is one that is life giving versus just “stable”. I’m not saying morality has to do with stability, but rather what (to me) is the sign of a successful state of affairs. Evil doesn’t fit in to my idea of success.
I think you’re missing the point. Mark Hamill posted the whole thing in June 2026, including the Rapid Response post (which doesn’t have a date). It would help to add context to know when Rapid Response posted what they said about Mark Hamill since it could’ve been months or years ago.
Hope this helps.
