The guy is pretty much 99th percentile of RB’s in all attacking aspects. People recognise that, he is one of the best in the world. But he cannot defend, stop lying to yourselves and just appreciate him for the player that he is.

That is exactly what Everton have been doing. They have been spending huge money on washed up players for a decade now, and not getting the results to back that up. It was rather clear, over the last 2 seasons, that they simply don’t have the money to spend anymore.

Their spending apparently resulted in a loss of £124m in one year alone. If a club is overspending and losing 124m per year, they are going to end up crippling themselves long term.

It was clear to everyone, that Everton’s spending model was not a sustainable one. They messed up, and now they pay the price for that.

If Everton actually placed in Europa spots a couple of times after spending hundreds of millions, maybe they would not be in the trouble they now find themselves in.
