I work in ems and I don’t currently go to therapy but I have previously and may again at some point but that’s less work related more personal issues

But trying therapy is never a bad idea if she is willing to try it I say go ahead although as others have said most of the time the work isn’t too bad and typically at least in ems we have basically group talks to discuss what happened and work through things in a pseudo therapy kind of setting

For me it was finding something I love and using the job as training to help with it in situations I like

Then again I am working in ems so the vast majority of my time is spent sitting around doing whatever I want being on call to sprint out the door of the base and or start moving the truck quickly

But seriously if you find something you love and get an actual job that wont suck every last bit of enjoyment from it having a job isn’t the problem

Some places do different shifts you may wanna look into

Like the place I am at does the standard work days but you can also do like 4 12 hour shifts or at some bases a 24 hour shift 3 days one week than 2 the next with every other day off and as long as you have the pager set loud enough you can be sleeping a decent portion of the after dark period on either a 24 or a night shift 12

I am probably gonna go with either graphene or a Linux phone next because of google doing their stupid shit as always

I may try and get a cheap phone to put some alt android ROMs on and test or maybe a Linux os but some of my favorite apps are android exclusive so I am probably gonna stick with a modded android system Either lineage, /e or graphene

I work 12 hour days but some people at my workplace work as much as 24 hour shifts working every other day

I get 5 personal days per year that are also my sick days and starting next year I can request up to 5 vacation days

They can call me in at any time if they need someone

They can fire me at any time for any reason with no warning

And since I am considered essential public safety personnel it is illegal to strike unless we go through a massive series of steps and even then they could make it criminal very easily

This isn’t the same as what is going on over there but still this country is not going well and I feel it is important people know that there isn’t even the degree of separation of it going on in another country this is happening in the united states right now

They aren’t bug free but that is the same as closed source and requiring open source would prevent malicious actors from doing as much while also letting anyone who wanted to pentest and granularly access the code have complete access and find as many if not more weaknesses than a dedicated corporate bug hunting team

I dont think cars should connect to the Internet if you don’t want them to so live commands shouldn’t be an issue but if you are talking about programming preset commands in having the apps be open source would fix that for the most part by adding that auditing layer

That is fair but some emissions control software and such is run through the same computer, I agree on the tactile sensation but I wouldn’t want to tie critical car functions into a smartphone so you would still need a computer and if you are gonna put a computer in at least some functionality based on spare processing power makes sense

It is technically just a game engine but there are a bunch of games on it including one called minetest that is very similar to Minecraft

Other bonus is that the engine and thus all the games run on windows, android, Linux and I think Mac

Other fun options but they are technically ports and are technically maybe paid

1 there is software to add Mobile controls to old wolfenstein and doom games

2 you can get a gba emulator like lemudroid from f-droid and play any gba game you can get a ROM for
