Apple’s aren’t square so it’s not so easy to figure out where to cut that will give you a 1/3 - 2/3 split.

WolfLink@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Stack Overflow seeks rebrand as traffic continues to plummet – which is bad news for developersEnglish67·3 days agoThe annoying thing about the dupe policy is sometimes the answer does change and the accepted answer to the existing question is from 5 years ago.
AIUI there was an aspect in the divisibility of the numbers being convenient.
12 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 6. 60 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30.
10 is divisible by 2 and 5. 100 is divisible by 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, and 50.
If you want to minimize dealing with fractions, 12 and 60 are far more convenient than 10 and 100.
WolfLink@sh.itjust.worksto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Gave him an offer, then took it away. Thanks PayPal.112·7 days agoMaybe but are you really going to hire a lawyer to sue when you don’t have a job to pay the rent?
I know someone who went through a similar situation. The company said they were “just getting the paperwork ready” for like 4 weeks, meanwhile my friend turned down another job offer. Then suddenly the company that had been stringing them along said “sorry”.

Doesn’t require a college degree. May require trade school or an apprenticeship.
math teachers
Requires multiple degrees but they are extremely underpaid and while I do think the US could use more and better teachers, the funding of the public school system does not reflect that.
chemists
Probably ok prospects right now but the job market in general kinda sucks right now so you still might have trouble.
etc etc etc.
Computer science was an extremely desirable degree from an employment perspective up until a couple years ago, but now the computer science bubble is popping. But also in general the job market is awful right now. A lot of people I know with “practical” degrees like computer science, business, physics, and engineering are struggling to get jobs in the fields they majored in. And that’s not even getting into how awful the US system for becoming a doctor is…
WolfLink@sh.itjust.worksto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Bad film with amazing premise and mediocre execution that you can't stop thinking about?3·10 days agoIn response to your spoiler:
I specifically didn’t like that scene because it’s a massive departure from the lore of all the other films. If they could just do that, why haven’t both sides been doing that all the time? Is it supposed to be that this group is the first group to try this, with the tech that has been around for at least a few centuries? If they had all died in the process I’d be more ok with that, although that also seems like a departure from how hyperspace works in the other films.
I’d put it at like 2 or 3 lines of text not counting keywords

The technology is the hypothetical anti-ballistic missiles.

There is for early models of the Switch:

If you are interested you’ll have to buy a used one, older is more likely to work.
