I’ve always been a fan of the things pine is doing, my biggest want in an e-reader is battery longevity. If I can get a week or more in of pretty consistent reading I’d be really happy. The pine note definitely has a faster processor, which makes me think it wouldn’t last quite as long.
But of course the openness of it would be a huge huge plus regardless.
Right now I’m using an old rooted (and beat to hell) nook simple touch for reading a lot of theory. I’m hoping to upgrade to a Kobo one day once I can talk myself into spending the money.
So it’s beans now? I’ve seen a post or 2. Sure fuck it I’m down.

There were ups and downs along the way, once I’d figured out the subreddits I was actually interested in and filtering out the stuff I didn’t want to see I have mostly had a decent time on Reddit. Spent one year on Apollo and bacon reader then purchased sync 9 years ago… Most of the complaints of the official app flew right over my head and I was pretty happy about it. I’m still absolutely enjoying this new little bit of the Internet for sure.
MORE reasons to enjoy the federated aspect. I am ALL for each instance having their own rules and protocol. I’m not a fan of removing the down voting but the fact that it is something that can be chosen by a group feels really good to me.
Jerboa hasn’t given me any issues, admittedly I only downloaded it this morning. I like wefwef, especially the gestures. I couldn’t figure out how to change connect from all to local or subscribed, but that super simple in jerboa.
As I understand jerboa doesn’t support the instance specific emotes though currently.
