Only nitpicking this because I have a family member named Millie. If you shorten Mildred, it would be Milly with a “y”
Millie spelled like this isn’t short for anything, it’s the full name.

Kbin looks way too much like the latest version of Reddit that is over designed and cumbersome.
Plenty of third party apps popping up for lemmy with Apollo like UI/UX that is much better (like wefwef or Memmy for example).
Yeah I’ve heard it’s a lemmy issue, but it didn’t seem to affect wefwef luckily.
I was just getting an error trying to comment yesterday when I tested the app out for a couple hours. Not sure if it’s still happening today, I’m just sticking to wefwef for now since it seems to be a bit more stable and isn’t lacking any features that I’m looking for.
Really? Reddit app sucks but Memmy won’t even load my communities or let me comment.
Wefwef’s web app is better than Reddit’s native app though.
Man I’m in my 30s and still do bunny ears to tie my shoes. Never really learned the “correct” way. My shoes do come untied a lot so maybe it’s time.
Honestly, they probably like the feeling of “power” (as sad as that sounds) that comes with moderating a community as large as theirs on Reddit.
I’d say that’s probably true for most younger people in the US as well.
There are obviously exceptions though. I like to golf and it’s (unsurprisingly in the US) normal to tip the bag guy at the end of a round that wipes down your clubs and cleans out your cart, so I keep cash on me that I handle somewhat regularly for that. But really that’s the only thing I can think of that I use cash for these days.
I’d assume some people also prefer to use cash when traveling to other countries since (in the US at least), using your debit/credit card in a foreign country can accrue significant fees.
I’ve just always been this way. I will catch myself going to wash my hands going from room to room in my house sometimes, but even I think that’s weird when I realize I’m doing it. I unapologetically wash my hands after handling anything like mail or packages as well. Might be slightly OCD in that regard. On the plus side, I didn’t get COVID until a few months ago for the first time.
wtf are you doing with your poop knife to enjoy it? Poop knifing should be all business, sir.
I figure you’d audit it by examining the results, and if bias isn’t detectable in the results
I was just asking for more info on how you’d examine the results for bias since it would need to be pretty extreme like the example you gave to be identifiable as something worth investigating.
All good if you don’t have a more specific answer, I was just curious what your personal thoughts were here.
Right, that’s why I was trying to ask you for your opinion on what the threshold for “investigation worthy” results
That would be a pretty extreme bias to have, so yeah that would make sense. If it’s not so drastic it might be harder to spot by just looking at the results.
What would unbiased results look like?
Okay but how often are you touching your belt after you’re done in the bathroom and have washed your hands?
This movie felt like they just blended together the last 2 movies to make a 4th for a cash grab. Super underwhelming.
No, it’s not fair to say that at all. I’ve stated nothing about my personal beliefs beyond saying that what Elon is suggesting is stupid. You are trying SO HARD to put words in my mouth it’s hilarious.
This entire conversation only makes a lick of sense to me if I assume you are on the spectrum, so I’ll give you some grace and we can both move on with our lives. Before you scream “ad hominem attack!!11,” you need to have a position for me to ignore that and attack you instead. But you have no position.
You seem like the kind of guy that needs the last word, so go ahead. I’ll stop replying.
✌️
Absolutely. We need a prison reform.
I pointed out the tax thing already, like 12 hours and 6 comments ago.
You aren’t even reading my replies properly, I’m over talking in circles with someone that uses brackets to make a smiley face and can’t formulate an argument that actually uses the topic we are discussing.
Maybe next time try arguing for something that actually has some legs and you believe in yourself. You aren’t good at arguing for things that you don’t actually agree with.
It’s absolutely a reason why they shouldn’t vote. They don’t pay taxes here, they don’t need or deserve representation because of this. It’s so simple you are unable to grasp it.
That’s great that you think that, but legally they are still a parent with a child so by Musks suggestion, they’d still be able to vote. You seem to be confusing philosophical thought exercises with legal definitions and real world applications.
So let me know if you ever come up with some evidence that suggests limiting voters to parents only would be a net benefit. Again, doesn’t need to be studies. Isn’t there some research on voting patterns and ideals of parents vs non-parents? I already gave one example but it doesn’t support your argument, quiet the opposite exactly. Your one study showed that parents don’t stop smoking weed, just slow down a little bit, so you can’t really argue they are better because they don’t smoke weed since that’s not true.
Until then, feel free to respond with more nonsense, I’ll just stop responding until you formulate an actual argument for your position.
True, which is why I prefaced about the nitpick
