d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•EU seeks China’s help to contain Trump’s trade war2·3 months agoI am very lacking in global trade (might need an ELIA5). But what are they concerned about? If stuff can’t go to the US, how does it mean they just automatically go to the EU? Wouldn’t those items need to be bought by companies/individuals in the EU in the first place?

If anything it seems like not being allowed to spear the bull would make their sport much more skill based. Like it is more impressive to deal with a pissed off/stress out bull that has no say in the matter. It seems that even if it wasn’t done now, that the younger gens that already don’t like it would be doing it once they are in power.

Given the massive amount of various branches of pigs present. I am shocked that he is alive. Main point being that there is no excuse for literally everyone that has been murdered by pigs while having mental health episodes (especially when they showed up after a relative/caregiver tried calling 911 just to help them for explicitly for a mental health crisis). So many people murdered because pigs are taught to “fear for their lives” above everything. Still shocked that one of them didn’t panic pop a round and set off just everyone (again like we see so often).

All the “chaos” being caused by Musk, Trump, and all of the rest means that all leftist orgs, parties, and even just individuals should be going in hard to win hearts and minds now. If the empire is going to hand us such perfect chances, then we should be taking any and all of them. So many of the libs are going around speaking of “organizing” but will just keep allowing the next cycle and further embolden the far-right/fascists.
Not calling for adventurism shit. But the contradictions of what the centrists/libs are coming back on them faster and harder than any time in my life. Their leaders have been shown to care more about finding reasons to never use power than to do anything they speak of to the masses come every election cycle. The masses that are sympathetic to stuff leftists talk about, but fear sudden change are now having to deal with it anyway.
I may just be dumb and overly hopeful in what some of the shit happening can be turned into. Would rather get razzed on here for it, and at least know I can learn from it.

Use fear to get mass manufactured consent like after 9/11 and the recent “news” pieces from Syria and that New Orleans crime scene (or the 40 beheaded babies).

Will be interesting if Anthem walks it back with the real possibility of more people that are pushed to the brink and nothing to lose. If they and the other insurance corpos keep going like this, then I can only hope said people pushed to the brink are met with outpouring of support.
The idea of bailouts for any large corp/bank in the US is bullshit full-stop. The US government’s constant and ruthless attacks on AES and really any other nations that nationalize such large and crucial companies show why bailouts shouldn’t happen. All the companies/banks that were massively bailed out in 2008 (or any other time) didn’t have requirements that money had to be paid back (with or without interest).
We saw how the rich fucks and their bootlickers took that money and enriched themselves while purging real working people and no pay rises for workers that were kept. For a nation that cheerleads how fucking beautiful and superior capitalism and free markets are. The idea of rewarding huge corps for over promising and fucking it up while keeping the barriers up from smaller or new companies is also fucked. It shows that the true final form of capitalism is private for-profit companies removing all functionally meaningful competition and being monopolies.
Which is basically what all cyberpunk dystopian media depicts when showing huge mega-corps that wield the power of nation-states over even the actual nations they operate within. Shit like this is one of the most obvious examples as to why systems like the US can’t actually fix issues and huge depressions caused by big corps. The moment that any private (both publicly and privately traded)/for-profit company is allowed to be labeled as “too big to fail,” it is time for that company to be nationalized and placed under similar control as corps in places like China.
Should also require that the leadership and all board members/major share holders be given death sentences for requiring money that keeps being taken away from public services. And all that is before the crimes of purging workers and giving themselves huge bonuses while workers are paid shit.
d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto US News@lemmygrad.ml•Another Trump assassination September 15th, 1:30 p.m. Florida time, at Mar-a-Lago62·10 months agoAside from the BS of libs non-stop going hard to say that Trump winning will mean fascism and the end of all freedoms. Which makes it very stupid to then act like “voting harder” would be the only correct way to prevent said fascism (it also didn’t stop the south from kicking off war). In addition to lame ass well wishes and showing the real colours of not really believing the threat to freedom.
I am starting to think that the dems and anti-gun republicans are trying to scare conservatives and pro-gun liberals into banning guns. As they would only push for bans if it directly impacts them and their leaders. But is more an idle conspiracy theory thought that I had after seeing the article. Wouldn’t work well if they were doing so, as it would most certainly lead to lots of actual shootouts when state and federal agents attempt to take peoples’ weapons.

I didn’t even know about her action! Bushnell being active service and live streaming made it very hard for the major outlets not talk about it (though we did see how much they tried). Nothing but the greatest respect to all martyrs and those currently fighting and surviving!
d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•British prisoners could be sent to Estonian jails in bid to ease overcrowding5·10 months agoSeems that if a nation has gotten to the point of needing to send people to a whole different nation due to prison overcrowding. Then it really should be a crucial time to change laws on shit that exist to feed the prison industrial complex. But I am not shocked that the nation that was shipping people to Australia originally for the same reasons is falling back on doing it. Though I am kind of shocked that they aren’t just funding the US complex to build prisons here to send them to.

d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•Erdogan says Turkey might enter Israel to help Palestinians11·11 months agoThe Palestinian resistance groups have been saying very clearly that they welcome support like how Hezbollah, Yemen, Iran, and the Iraqi groups have been providing. But that they do not want other nations sending in troops. That they will be seen as an occupying force and will be treated as one. Though I might be conflating them entering Gaza and West Bank. So maybe the other areas that are “Israel” based on the 1968 maps? Seems like another chance for them to make a stop into PKK areas on the way?
d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto US News@lemmygrad.ml•NASA cancels its moon rover mission, citing cost overruns and launch delays2·1 year agoFor sure. Would be a big motivator for getting actual shit together and would then mean the next push would be Mars. Though I am hoping that China (with maybe some follow-up missions that include some joint stuff with other socialist nation members) will make it Mars first. Would be a missed chance to have the history books record that “the reds take the red planet” otherwise.
d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto US News@lemmygrad.ml•NASA cancels its moon rover mission, citing cost overruns and launch delays8·1 year agoVery sad state of things. But being fair, I think NASA might be able to get at least a small injection of money if they stick to getting people on the moon again. Actually seeing humans land on the moon again would get more people excited about space (no matter which nation(s) end up doing it).
The robots, non-earth orbiting satellites, telescopes, and probes are very great for science but aren’t “exciting” to a lot of people. We always hear about cool ideas about future possible manned missions to moons and planets. But it is always super far off and no real plans that would be anytime soon. We really really need missions that show humans making steps on something.
A rover for future follow-up missions will be needed. But after so many years, just doing dumb human shit like jumping around in low gravity and picking up a few rocks would be effectively the same as if the old landings as far as excitement. Shit like that can be something that humans from all nations can feel some amount of pride.
And somehow it is Huawei’s 5G or other shit that is somehow going to “take down our infrastructure” or whatever. Though I guess it is a compliment in a way. Means that China has reached a point that is “too close” to being equal to whatever the US has (which is still being made in the Taiwan province).
d-RLY?@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•High-Tech American Weapons Work Against Russia—Until They Don’t61·1 year agoThe over-reliance on making so many weapons basically self-automated instead of actually needing humans further magnifies how little lives matter and how much more profits do. Yet we have seen historically many times over how these over-hyped systems/weapons sold at higher and higher costs are made pointless by real humans with “dumb” systems/weapons. Look at the NVA/Viet Cong, Iraqi resistance, Taliban, PKK, and so many other “less advanced” fighters were able to show how all the tech didn’t matter. The “advanced” shit is all made to supposedly fight “modern battlefields” that we haven’t really seen be reality. Even the actual military leaders over the years have admitted as much.
All the “modern” shit just makes it easier to remove the humanity of conflict. It is much easier to kill lots of people if done through the eyes of a computer. Not to mention the false sense of assumed victory by some default. If we did see these “modern” wars with all sides using the shit the Military Industrial Complex hypes up so much. Then we would just see just mass destruction and death caused by computers fighting computers. Pretty sure nukes would be used really quick too.
Just used unshorten.me on the link from OP, and it seems to go to the site you found.
