You joke, but people overusing the free Healthcare is a problem.

I have a few friends/family working on both social security and state hospitals (the free healthcare mentioned in the article). There are a lot of users who are not sick and still go religiously to get appointments or try to hoard medicine. It’s not a huge issue in the big picture but they do end up taking the limited time and resources from people who actually need it at the time.

The staff at the hospital knows them but they get the same attention as everyone, in case it is actually real this time.

It is not part of your negotiations with your employer. You get health insurance through IMSS (social security) by law. It is not optional and the service is not tied to your salary. You can make millions, or minimum wage, your IMSS coverage would be the same.

We’ve had another coverage called “seguro popular”, this has been free and not tied to employment since early 2000s. It was revamped and gutted by the previous president. The only requirement to get coverage was to not have coverage by IMSS. So, employed, you get IMSS. Unemployed, you got seguro popular.

So it is an empty gesture

It does get misused in that exact way sometimes. I’m from Mexico, these cases have been making big headlines here for a while now, some prosecutors are misclassifying cases as femicide to grab attention to their political careers.

Local one a couple of years ago where a dude ran over a woman. Local prosecutor was pushing for femicide, fortunately it was moved to manslaughter as it should have been from the start. Not everything constitutes a hate crime and cases like that (in my opinion at least) would make the distinction meaningless

As a side note, local authorities have been closing down a lot of shops and restaurants in the aftermath. Safety practices and building codes are basically never followed, local authorities are bribed left and right to look the other way.

The whole state is trying to catch up on years of buildings without permits, inspections, etc.

Not for that, no. Reading codes from all modules and all live data monitoring are free. You should be fine without a subscription

I have OBDeleven and have used VCDS a couple of times.

OBDeleven does give detailed diagnostics but any coding, testing or adaptations are locked behind a not so cheap subscription.

I honestly regret buying it, much rather pay a bit more for vcds and not have to do the subscription thing

To your comment though, pit bulls do tend to see different living conditions to some other breeds. Irresponsible ownership is a real problem for pit bulls.

They are strong and hard to train. I don’t think they should all be put down, but I do agree that not just anyone should raise one.

I understand the bite statistics but you have to keep in mind how those are reported too.

No one is reporting their neighbor’s chihuahua taking a bite at their boot. Bites from smaller breeds mostly go unreported.

It does give a point as to why pit bulls and other large breeds are dangerous though. Whether they are more common or not, they certainly are far, far more serious when it happens.

Responsible ownership has always been an issue with pitbulls, as irresponsible people tend to adopt and breed them.
