10·12 days agoAccording to the article, it’s aimed to mimic Google’s Weather app, so I would expect them to be very similar to Breezy.
The thing I’m looking for in a weather app right now is more reliable data. There was a pretty big storm last night that Open-Meteo completely missed.

Games@lemmy.world•Anyone else get bored once they reach the final boss?English
2·14 days agoIt depends on the game and the difficulty spike. I know what I’m getting into with a FromSoftware game, and they’re usually reasonable progressions (outside of some the DLC bosses). I know they’re tough, but they should be manageable with some adjustments and patience.
Then there’s games like TTYD that shot up the difficulty at the end without much warning. If a game just throws a curve ball like that without much of a means to build you up for that fight, I think that’s a failure on the game’s design.

Explain Like I'm Five@lemmy.world•Can someone explain Pavlov's Dog to me like I am a child or an idiot and how it relates to other stuff? I have had questions about it for years with no avail. Thanks in advance.English
1·2 months agoThe brain is constantly looking for patterns in your life. It’s trying to relate events and your senses to what you normally do. It does this because it’s looking to save the body energy by automating responses to triggers. (Less energy for thinking about what to do means more energy for other things.)
What this means is there are actions you take without even thinking about it. For example: when you get into your car, you may unconsciously put on your seatbelt.

8·2 months agoThe idea is that this can be applied to people because the brain finds and remembers a pattern. Replace the bell and the served food with another cue and event pair.
Thanks for sharing your experience with a Ricoh (and your picture too)! I’ve been playing with the idea of getting a dedicated point and shoot camera, but the prices sometimes are intimidating for someone that doesn’t know anything about Lightroom/Darktable.
