Nice work! I tried this out a few months ago (maybe longer?) and it was still a bit too rough around the edges but I liked the concept. I’ll download it again today and give the new update a spin!

Mostly just seems genuinely positive haha
Hold on, that’s not fair, we also use it to measure how much Coca Cola is in the bottle…hmm never mind that’s not helping… let me start over…we also use it for drugs! Wait, shit…
Funny thing is most of them are good reviews not bad lol
It’s funny reading these mundane “the service was great, good steak” kind of review and knowing it’s written by a billionaire drug kingpin 😂
Yeah that makes sense, that’s right about when they started teaching English in schools from grade school on. That’s why everyone under 40 tends to speak great English but over 40 and it’s hit or miss.
Yeah in my experience pretty much everyone under the age of around 40 in any major city speaks English there. Cities like Berlin sometimes it seems like half the people there don’t even speak German haha
“Assistant VP” or “Assistant to the VP”? lol
This is a person that appears to actually think XML is great, so I wouldn’t expect them to have valid opinions on anything really lol
Sounds about right for an academic computer scientist, they are usually terrible software engineers.
At least that’s what I saw from the terrible coding practices my brother learned during his CS degree (and what I’ve seen from basically every other recent CS grad entering the workforce that didn’t do extensive side projects and self teaching) that I had to spend years unlearning him afterwards when we worked together on a startup idea writing lots of code.
It looks like you have iOS Safari debugging turned on. Here’s the instructions I found from Apple to toggle it:
I found this info on this Apple developer documentation page: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safari-developer-tools/inspecting-ios
I was in the “remember” group for the Berenstain Bears, but in this case I only remember ever seeing the logo on the right (the real one).
That’s not a counter-example…Team Xecuter also made millions of dollars and Gary was running various sites that explicitly promoted and helped people with piracy (much more directly illegal than anything Yuzu was doing). Whether Gary has the money to pay his plea agreement in his federal criminal case (not a mutually agreed upon settlement in a civil case like Yuzu) is irrelevant to my point that the only people getting in big trouble are the ones making a ton of money off of it.
Also it was only “an easy couple million” from Yuzu because they chose to settle the case immediately rather than fighting it. They certainly had the money to fight it if they had $2.4 million to pay in a settlement they agreed to, so I assume they were more across the line into illegal territory than it seemed or they wouldn’t have folded so fast.
No they can’t get an easy couple million from any emulator lol, only from emulator developers making millions of dollars from their emulator…which is basically only Yuzu.
Now I’m curious, what was the first worst job you ever had?
Same with Starfield. Biggest launch ever!! Well yeah no shit Sherlock it was free on gamepass for like 30 million people lol
Unfortunately I think this is exactly what Reddit wants. They want to be social media like Instagram or TikTok style. A lot more ad money from that crowd.
I know Reddit (and Lemmy) was always technically social media but I consider it more like Internet forums than the Facebook/Insta/TikTok style social media.
Yeah iOS has had native support for content blocking since iOS 9 back in 2015. You just install any ad blocker you want from the App Store and you get full desktop style ad blocking in Safari. Also of course you can use DNS based as blocking as well to block ads in apps etc.
I imagine there is a big conflict of interest from Google with Android ad blocking since they’re essentially an advertising company and run by far the biggest ad network in the world. I’m kind of surprised Android supports it at all to be honest, but good to hear there’s good support now.
Fuck ads!!
I’m using AdGuard on an iPhone and there are zero ads in the article. You should get a better ad blocker I’m sure there are good ones on Android too.
Why do so many people on Lemmy think iPhones don’t have ad blocking? It’s an OS feature and there’s like a dozen ad blockers available that all work with the stock browser.
I swear this is like the 5th time I’ve seen a comment like this on Lemmy. I swear no one that complains about iPhones has ever actually used one…
I’m pretty sure that at the time that photo was taken he was in the middle of running for political office and hiding the fact his money came from drug trafficking. I assume that look you described was exactly what he was going for.
