That is a terrible attitude, apathy is evils best friend.

Only a small percentage of people are willing to think and put some effort in, the zombie population continues to grow. That is one of the reasons why large corporations hardly even bother with customer service any more, customers are now expendable, every one that leaves, is immediately replaced with another.

Every major processed plant based brand in the usa is no doubt owned by corpse lords, but they don’t own food itself… although monsanto has been trying to do just that for decades.

That is what google et al want though, they want zombies, they do not want free thinkers. None of this is by accident, and the userbase/population is so large now that they are unlikely to fail in creating dystopia. The very wrong people are in charge.

No

No one existed before password managers

I appreciate this page for that reason

I plant to ignore the subject in future (and should have already done so here), it has proven to be ridiculous in the past due to the whole fan culture thing, and it has been none of my business since I walked away from my subscription a year, or 2 ago.
“personal experiences and judgments” definitively, but even in the very recent past (the google bollocks --> lake america) proton was being widely recommended as the replacement, and the masses were just gobbling it up without appearing to put any effort in. proton might lose fewer customers than they just gained.

“apathetic”

Did you ever consider what the world could be like if apathetic people did not support bad people?

The enemy of my enemy might also be my enemy
pedophiles are not my friend.

It’s an unfortunate reality, very poorly (too honestly?) worded by Andy.
Consumers need to do much better in that respect, we need to hold corporations, and politicians to account, we need to put more effort into our choices.

Proton have marketed themselves exceptionally well, comments suggesting they are not what they seem have always been met with a lot of downvotes. They marketed themselves into a brand receiving the same blind adoration as a sporting tam.

We do, but we are not always aware of whether/how we are being deliberately manipulated in any thread.

I never understood why someone would use a 3rd party for “password management”
“My name is Richard” says Andy
Some will, most won’t (in general)
A large issue these days is that things often need to ‘go viral’ to change, and unfortunately (due to marketing) they often tend to go viral in the wrong direction
I have no idea why anyone would continue to use google now, but so many do
