zionist montefiore probably has a totally nuanced perspective to write a biography about stalin, no doubt!

1·2 days agoyeah there are a few small details that need to be done, i still think maybe some defaults are good since it doesn’t have a tutorial or whatever but definitely not my whole bookmarks lol

Open Source@lemmy.ml•i created a repo for the new tab extension
3·2 days agozen mods are css/js injections, not full extensions. a new tab override extension won’t translate cleanly into a mod afaik. i just tried installing it there and it didn’t work tho, i think there’s an issue because zen has a native pop up when you click open a new tab, since i also tried installing tabliss and it won’t let me also. it seems zen blocks new tab permissions and there’s no fix on their part yet. i think the only way it could work is editing some file inside zen where it stores its new tab file, but it would break with updates and im not sure if it can handle more than a simple html

Open Source@lemmy.ml•i created a repo for the new tab extension
1·2 days agoi didn’t test it on zen but unless you have some very weird set up there that breaks something it should work since it’s based on firefox. there are installation instructions in the repo since it’s not officially published yet, and again since it’s based on firefox the instructions are the same

i am not sure how to do that, and i don’t know if it’s worth to do such a big rewrite since for people to do that would need to know how to code and then they could simply modify the code and add or remove parts. but i’ll keep it mind and if you want something added let me know
im trying to do that but it needs approval from Mozilla and it could take weeks afaik. I think I can provide an .xpi to use but if it’s not signed you can only use it on FF Nightly. Alternatively you could download the source code, compile it and sign it yourself, it’s pretty easy I could tell you how to do it until it’s officially published. I could use the testing to see if something’s broken on another machine.
you can choose which ones to use or not, and also choose in which column and order. if you feel theres one missing i might consider adding it but i dont want it to be too bloat, right now i think there’s a good balance.
Luca Prodan was an italian, he went to live to England for some time and got addicted to heroin. He suffered an OD and almost die, to save him his family sent him to Argentina, where opioids weren’t able available. Here he lived in the countryside in Cordoba drinking a lot of wine demijohns, where he recorded this album. He then moved to Buenos Aires where he formed Sumo, and marked Argentinian music forever, to later die of cirrhosis. This song is based on Leonard Cohen’s novel, Beautiful Losers.

World News@lemmy.ml•Syrian junta declares support for Lebanon’s effort to disarm Hezbollah
5·4 days agowhy? he ruled syria under a ba’athist arab socialist system, which is by far the most revolutionary system possible to implement in the middle east given material reality right now. it argues for state led socialist economy (nationalization of major industries, state control of natural resources, state planning of important sectors, land reform targeting large landowners), anti imperialism and panarabism, democratic centralism established trough the rule of a vanguard party, it’s a secular ideology that argues arab idenity comes before religion.
it is indeed a synthesis of marxism leninism applied to the material reality of modern day syria. there’s a really good interview done by cgnt where they talk about the similarities between the chinese and syran model

I think this is the perfect example of how democracy does not exist under capitalism, much less the US Empire. Lobbying modifies the political and structural basis of any enterprise. There’s no reason for Mozilla to do this, much less have a CEO that earns as much as he do, but that’s what Google want so Mozilla will comply.
